Hi all ❤️hope you’re having a great weekend. I’ve just got back from a beautiful wellness retreat which I can’t wait share more of with you but being back home and thinking about how we’re going into autumn, getting our kids back to school/back into our routines again. I’ve been thinking about all the things I’ve been practicing and learning and how I want to keep these healthy habits going – one of the main ones is movement, going for a walk , bike ride or have some kind of light, gentle exercise as part of my daily routine I’ve finally bought myself a bike which I’m really enjoying and evening bike rides or a walk are now my new non negotiable habit that I’m really trying to stick to. It’s so fun and also such a lovely thing to do together as a family or with a friends🙏🏻 Gemma @fitbuddie.co.uk has been teaching me about GLUCOSE CLEARING – it’s our ability to remove glucose (sugar) from the bloodstream and use it for energy. Walking or cycling after a meal helps reduce post-meal blood sugar spikes and improves insulin sensitivity. By accelerating glucose clearance, walking reduces the likelihood of excess glucose being stored as fat, aiding in weight management and lowering the risk of type 2 diabetes. There are also so many other benefits🙌🏻 Improved Digestion-I find it really helps prevent bloating and discomfort, allowing me to process food more efficiently. Enhanced Metabolism- Regular physical activity, including walking, boosts my metabolism, helping me burn more calories throughout the day. Appetite Control-Walking reduces my desire to snack or overeat after meals. It’s SO good for our minds. Being out in nature and that little bit of self care is so good for our mood and our mental health Incorporating a moderate walk or bike ride of about 15-30 minutes after each meal can, over time, contribute to a healthier weight by leveraging these benefits. One of my great joys but sometimes I can feel anxious about eating out when I’m trying to eat healthy? Maybe you can resonate … • You go to the restaurant. • You have no idea what you are going to order. • The waitress then comes over to take your order .. • • You don’t know what to order. • And out of habit you order the same as you usually would have. • rush order or go for a usual go to • You then go home and feel guilty and think I shouldn’t of eaten that • Because it wasn’t nutritious or balanced But Gemma has taught me the skills to make it so much easier and taken any over thinking out of it 🙌🏻- she calls it the “Forward planning method!” This is what I now do; • look up the restaurant I’m going to go to. • Decide on the meal I am going to have in advance. • Log that meal in advance with Gemma and ask her opinion on other options. • know that I CAN tweak the menu – ask for things to be grilled not fried, ask for dressings on the side, ask for no butter on the veg, swap chips for rice. This makes eating out so much more enjoyable and nutritious! I’ve really learnt so much from doing the @fitbuddie.co.uk plan that when you forward plan and pre prep as much as you can the more in control you feel about making healthier choices. 🙌🏻xx #ad

Wow what a week @thebodycampofficial I can’t shout about the experience I had enough🙏🏻 thank you so much for inviting me and for all the love, care and nurturing. How much we packed in, I can’t even begin to put into words. I feel so grateful to have had the opportunity to experience it all. It’s been on my wish list for a long time! From the incredibly delicious plant based food cooked by the super talented @benwhalechef Thank you..Every meal was just so beyond delicious and felt like such a treat. @misskwhale you’ve created something so beautiful and special 💫Rick your energy was just beyond amazing 🙌🏻 thank you for all the love , passion and care you put into it all. Also to the gorgeous Frankie and Bruno.. What a team. It really is such a wonderful balance of everything from the physical training which was so varied and fun and which also works to push you whatever your fitness level to the wellness element and the mindfulness side of it. You also really do get the chance to just play and not to mention with the loveliest people 🙏🏻It was another opportunity to learn so much about myself and take myself out of my comfort zone but In a beautiful, and very safe space.
