I love that no matter how early we meet we will definitely close down the establishment (the only other person I do that with is @simonekessell). Thank you for being there for me at the best times and the worst times and everything in between. Thank you for being such an angel that you’re the one person my child asked to invite to her performance as Townspeople in Frozen Jr. I can’t wait until the next time we meet at 6:30om and leave at midnight and in the Uber home, lament how we barely got half of the things out that we wanted to discuss. I wish we were drinking a fancy chardonnay and befriending all the waiters tonight, although will any encounter compare with meeting the self-proclaimed #1 Twink of the staff who immediately went on our list of favourite people? Hard to say. Easy to predict though is that there are many more very fun times in our future. I hope you had a great round of pickleball and lots of hugs from your boys today. Happy birthday Clarabell. How much fun we have had over the last 34 years!! Here’s a picture from what feels like yesterday, or 200 years ago. I love you so much, and I’m so grateful that we have maintained this friendship despite not living in the same town since we were 15 (except for London in our 20s which is when this picture was taken, probably at 3am). You have somehow always known about the greatest bands/ceramicists/architects/skincare lines/everything, and you’ve always been totally fine with being the only one bringing cool new discoveries to the relationship. You are kind and empathetic and your advice is always exactly what I need to hear. Let’s never stop catching up for one incredibly fun night in random cities. My daughter is a HUGE fan of Gabby’s Dollhouse and I was so lucky to be invited to be a guest on the show ‘Gabby & Friends’ on the @gabbysdollhouse YouTube channel. One of my favourite things about the show has been watching @lailalockhartkraner as Gabby. She is so funny, sweet and natural, and she’s creating all that lovely energy ALONE with just stuffies and a grumpy cat as scene partners. What a joy it was to get to hang out with her and see how talented and professional and kind she is in real life and on a set. She put me at ease and was so fun to work with. Casting director friends, please know that Laila is the real deal! The whole team was lovely. What a great day. I filmed this in NY while I was there doing press, so my little one wasn’t able to be with me, but I got to send her a video that Laila made for her and the scream this child let out was unlike anything I’ve ever heard. She could not believe that Gabby knew her name. Thanks for having me and thanks for making a little girl’s year!! 💖🎉

I’m so, so happy for Sarah today. @mssarahcatharinepaulson is an artist I revere completely. I know and love her with all my heart, but I am consistently watching her work and forgetting that it’s her. She disappears every time, and enters into each role with complete commitment and deep humanity. The people she plays are absolutely full and human and fascinating and surprising. Her speech last night was so beautiful and encapsulated everything I feel about her as an artist. I was so astounded by her work in @appropriateplay. The discipline and strength it takes to put your full self into that performance night after night. Her voice, her movement, her timing. I sat there witnessing it in complete awe. Nobody deserves this more. I love you so much Quackleen. This is incredible. 💖
Rest In Peace Martin Phillipps- a truly great songwriter, an artist I have revered for as long as I’ve loved music. If you’ve never listened to The Chills, there’s a world of beauty waiting for you. Songs full of poetry and joy and spookiness and heartbreak, sunshiney guitar communicating waves of hope and waves of despair sometimes within the same chorus. I didn’t know him, but I loved him so much. What a sad day for the world.
Happy birthday my sweet @millielynskey aka Micey, Auntie Beebu, Assister, Millin, and of course, always and forever FP. It is one of the greatest joys of my life to be your sister. I am so lucky. I love laughing hysterically with you at (let’s be honest) basically nothing. I love giving each other the side eye at loud chewers and when “interesting” things are said by someone we are with. I love that we both always cry when we have to say goodbye. I love that we both love so many of the same things- looking at houses we cannot afford on the internet, our very weird inside jokes, Chocolate Block wine, dogs, paint colours, a good cheese plate, and our siblins. Hanging out at you and Ellie’s house while you both cook and dogs and children run around and you don’t judge me for being completely unhelpful and doing nothing but chatting and refilling the crackers on the charcuterie board? That is actually perfect happiness. I love you so much. Please let’s never stop texting each other when we hear Midnight Train to Georgia. I can’t wait to see you soon 💖💖💖
