I don’t know, guys. I don’t quite know how to function today. Or moving forward, for that matter. This is, no doubt, the darkest day in American politics in my lifetime. Worse than November 2016. Worse than Jan 6th. I am not okay. Fool me once, shame on you, right? Fool me twice, shame on me? Today, I feel a deep sense of shame for this country I love so much. Re-electing this man is downright shameful. If you’re feeling a similar sense of dread, despair, if you feel a deep sense of mourning, grieving— please know, you’re not alone. I want to thank each and every one of you who fought like hell to save democracy. We did our level best. And one day, once we’ve licked our wounds and hopefully (somehow) mended our hearts, we’ll get back up and do it again. Because America will always be worth fighting for. 🤍

My Mama— she absolutely hates posing for photos. Well, I just happened upon this candid shot of her & my dad yesterday, just in time for her birthday today! Threw in a couple of us for good measure. 😊 HBD to the lady who taught me to be fearless and curious and resilient and to speak my mind (Lord knows I learned that lesson a little TOO well! 😆). She’s always danced to the beat of her own drum— something I aspire to do in my own life. Happy birthday to our Resident Badass— here’s to many more! 🥳🎂🩷
