I was most excited to look at snakes in Delhi Zoo. Partly because it was an air conditioned space but mostly because I have very less knowledge of native Indian snakes and thought this visit could help me familiarise with them. A Python looks intimidating due to its size, that’s the reason it gets harmed so often however it is totally non venomous. A Rat Snake can be upto 2 metres long and people sometimes confuse it with Cobras as they are both very long and slender, however a Rat Snake is non poisonous and has a cute tiny head, a Cobra (aka ‘Naag’) has a very distinct inflated hooded and a patterned head which I think everyone is familiar with. Also I found out later, Rat Snake in hindi is Dhamin only. There are more types of venomous snakes in India apart from Cobra, but others were not present in the snake house. You will find 5-6 displays of Indian Rock Python, each bigger than the other, one cobra, one diadem and one rat snake. Those were the snakes and then there is one monitor lizard. Overall I still got to learn something, I would run but won’t harm a Rock Python, but I must say spotting differences between all these snakes takes a keen eye. #snakes #indiancobra #reptiles #ratsnake #delhizoo #snakehouse #monitorlizard
This heat can sweat you to the point of dehydration so always carry your own bottle of water. Thankfully in Delhi zoo, there are drinking facilities every few kilometres and it really saved me.
Meet the marketing geniuses of Lajpat Nagar. These are the few catchphrases that I captured, you have to visit to see their creativity in action. Also, some of them recognised me and asked for pictures together, these guys were so funny and nice 😄😄 #lajpatnagar #lajpatnagarmarket #lajpatnagardelhi #shoppingdelhi
Who will win?
I visited Delhi Zoo yesterday and although we are going through one of the hottest summers, it was a surprisingly pleasant trip. There were a lot of visitors even at 12 PM and the ticket was only ₹80. You get an option to reserve an e-cart which will take you around the zoo, or you could explore on foot. In my opinion there is no need to take the cart as the walk is not very long. The local zoo in any town is called the green lung of the city. It’s true also because there is almost no forest cover in an urban landscape, and a zoological park sometimes is the only green oasis in a concrete jungle, it serves as a heat and carbon sink. In school days, trips to zoo were probably the most exciting days of the year, seeing the animals which sounded mythical in textbooks so closely gave a rush of adrenaline. It’s still wonderful, I have been to many national parks but spotting a tiger in forest has not been in my luck. So seeing emus, ostriches, white tigers, lions and cobras within a few hours was still thrilling, but I am now also aware that animals are complex beings. They have routines, they play important role in an ecosystem, they have emotions, they compete, they bond and they get depressed too. Seeing a leopard prey, herd of elephants navigating through forest or chimps feasting on fruit trees are the sights that what will actually educate children about nature and the beauty of diversity. People can’t be taught the importance of wildlife conservation by watching these animals kept as captives in zoo. We saw a number of visitors punching and shaking the cages, putting their belongings inside the cage to evoke a reaction, shouting and screaming to incite them. In my opinion, national parks, sanctuaries or even documentaries are better ways to learn about wildlife because it is not at the expense of any animal’s freedom. #delhizoo #delhitourism #delhitravel #wildlife #lion
Is speaking Hindi a problem in Karnataka?
I had a fun day exploring Bangalore Palace and the area around it. Bangalore palace is beautiful, but stands nowhere close to Mysore palace in terms of both size and grandeur. The interiors and artefacts are little underwhelming, there are some really beautiful paintings but some walls looked like a school bulletin board, they had no rhyme or rhythm. The audio guide goes on talking about history of Wodeyar family but could not help if I had any questions like why am I looking at a room full of folded sarees, is it part of display or for sale? I would still recommend visiting this palace, the architecture is very beautiful. #bangalorepalace #bangalore #karnatakatourism

An update about my profile. A lot of you have been asking what happened to my account as you could not find it. Something out of the blue happened and I did not see it coming at all 😄
This outfit is inspired by Alia Bhatt’s lehenga at her friend’s wedding, but what I am really inspired by is her mood in this song 🥰 Also, you might now see it, but this dupatta has the most beautiful work, its my favourite 👗 #lehenga #reelkarofeelkaro #outfitinspiration #lehengalove #lehngacholi #desigirlswag💋
Tied hair. I could see my mother glowing and happy with herself whenever she was wearing a saree. The Saree does the same to my confidence as well, it’s a goddess feeling.

Went to a new place in Delhi today. I got to closely watch and learn the craftsmen and women at work. Indian handicraft is so under appreciated, these people work so hard to create such beautiful art. Visit this haat soon, as its ending on 5th December #dastakarnaturebazaar #dastakar #dastakardelhi
Vadodra to Mumbai was the most hectic, the roads were packed with trucks, lots of construction work going on, lots of traffic. This was the golden quadrilateral route again. Anyway we reached safely to our last stop in this long journey – Mumbai. The final destination is close now. Goa we are comiinggg!
