After tonight’s debate there should be no doubt – no room for discussion – @KamalaHarris is the only candidate in this race who is ready to be President. I am once again urging everyone to roll up their sleeves and DO SOMETHING – phone bank, knock on doors, talk to any and everyone you know and urge them to vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz. Every vote will matter in what will be a close race. We cannot afford to have anyone sitting on the sidelines. There’s simply too much at stake. Get involved today at go.KamalaHarris.com.
While in Denver, I stopped by the @tatteredcoverbookstore and signed some copies of The Light We Carry. I’ve enjoyed doing these surprise bookstore visits throughout the year – and this time I decided to bring some folks from my team along with me! Which bookstore should I stop by next? Tag them below. 📚

This #HumanRightsDay, we are thinking about the 12 million girls around the world who are forced to enter into child marriages every year. Child marriage threatens girls’ health and safety, prevents them from getting an education, and can lead to them, their families, and their entire communities getting stuck in a cycle of poverty. This time last year, we traveled to Malawi and South Africa to help bring more attention to this serious — and often overlooked — global issue to hear directly from our partners who are on the front lines working to end child marriage. We remain so inspired by the amazing girls and women we met, and the courageous advocates sharing their stories and raising attention about their plight. Just a few weeks ago, Malawi launched a revitalized national strategy to end child marriage. In the past year, we’ve also seen countries including Colombia, Sierra Leone, the Central African Republic, and Zambia take steps to address this issue. Every girl deserves the chance to determine her own future. That is only possible in a world without child marriage. As a global community, let’s recommit ourselves to ending child marriage once and for all.

We’ve been so inspired by all the athletes representing @TeamUSA at the Olympics and Paralympics in Paris. This summer, two students from our @GirlsOpportunityAlliance and @MBK_Alliance had the chance to see the action up close while interning at the Olympics with NBC. Calen and Justin, we’re so proud of you and can’t wait to see what you do next!
If you haven’t already, make sure to check out my new Netflix show — The Later Daters. Watching these folks get to know each other and navigate the dating process is a beautiful reminder that love can find us at any age, at any time, in any place. I absolutely loved working on The Later Daters with @HigherGroundMedia as an executive producer, and I think you will enjoy it, too. Here’s a look at the show — and my reaction to a few scenes from it! Hope you’ll give it a watch.
Today we’re excited to share that @JulieMehretu, a world renowned Ethiopian-American artist and activist, has created an incredible piece of art that will have a prominent place on the outside – and inside – of the Obama Presidential Center. I think Julie’s installation, titled “Uprising of the Sun,” will be one of the most important aspects of the Center and an iconic contribution to the South Side and the city of Chicago. Michelle and I can’t wait for you to see it.
This past year, I’ve been working on a very special project that I hope you might find useful. It’s my new workbook, Overcoming — and it’s designed to help folks manage the more challenging periods life throws our way. With so much going on in the world, I know a lot of people are feeling overwhelmed and anxious right now. This workbook is intended to be a tool to help you navigate those complicated feelings. It’s full of activities, reflective writing prompts, habit-tracking tools, and more that you can use when you start to feel a little bit off-center. And as we gear up for the new year and set intentions to be the best version of ourselves, I hope the Overcoming workbook keeps you motivated and reminds you that you never have to go through anything alone. If you grab a copy, let me know what you think!

My new workbook — Overcoming — is out today! And I wanted to share a few tools and techniques that have helped me stay steady throughout my life. Now, I’ve had the benefit of practicing these techniques for many years. They’re a part of how I see the world. But for many, finding ways to implement something new into our lives can be daunting. Any kind of change is hard, particularly when we’re trying to shift the way we live our lives or the way we see ourselves and the world. My hope is that the Overcoming workbook helps you reimagine how you want to show up in the world. Do you have a practice that works for you? Let me know in the comments.
I’ve been a fan of Stevie Wonder for as long as I can remember – his music provided the soundtrack for so many great moments in my life. That’s why I’m thrilled to share that our latest @HigherGroundMedia project with @Questlove – The Wonder of Stevie podcast – is now available on @Audible! Hosted by Wesley Morris, this podcast explores the five-year period starting from 1972 when Stevie released a streak of sonically groundbreaking, musically distinct, and genre-defying albums that changed the music world forever. The Wonder of Stevie podcast is a fun and inspiring listen for Stevie fans and music lovers alike. I hope you’ll love it as much as I did! 🎶
