Obviously, I’m not surprised that this clown has the audacity to question Kamala Harris’ Blackness. He’s so gahtdamn predictable. HOWEVER! It’s funny how (it’s not funny) that when racists realize they cannot coast on entitlement and mediocrity (or, in this case, being a feckless idiot), they act like Blackness is this scaaaaaary boogie man that affords Black people all these advantages. 🤔. The narrative always changes to benefit their reality. When it’s to have a villain and to keep subjugation going, Black people are considered a menace, to be feared, thugs, lazy, will ruin this country, etc. When we make progress and our talents are rightfully recognized and celebrated, it’s only because we’re getting “extra attention and opportunity” for our skin color, not that we worked twice as hard to get where we are. How convenient. It’s enough to make your head spin, but this is what happens when you make your whiteness your ONLY credential.
Furthermore, the implication that @KamalaHarris is “claiming” to be Black for political purposes as if being Black is some sort of advantage in America is nasty work when #SonyaMassey was murdered by police last week after calling 911 for help. It’s ignorant considering Black women make 69 cents for every dollar a white man makes. It’s revolting considering Black women have the worst mortality rate of any women in America. We are over sexualized, underestimated, disrespected, sabotaged, yet we show up, bring the culture, fight for democracy, and shine with our intelligence and beauty. Kamala is not CLAIMING to be Black. She is CELEBRATING her Blackness. Liking yourself and specifically your Blackness is what so many of them like Trump find so objectionable. How dare she, right?
