Ellie Holcomb Instagram – I’m not really a runner. I just like to go fast, so if I ever go for a “run”, I’m mainly walking. My sister in law taught me to run really slow during the verses to songs, and then to sprint during choruses , and then in the bridge to take a breather and walk, and then to sprint to the end of the song. I love this and I laugh as people drive by me as I am flying down the street…because to them it may look like I’m training for the olympics, but it’s really just my 30 second burst of energy. : )
I love the imagery from this verse, and the way it reminds me that if we simply place our hope and set our minds on the Love of God, we will be fueled with a limitless supply of strength and endurance. I have known this to be true b/c I have found in seasons of deep exhaustion, even when I am forced to rest or slow down, I am met by a steady current of light and hope that keeps me going. Lord, may we put our hope in You, and may we be amazed by the way You send your strength and light and love to infuse us with a steady current to carry us when it feels like we can’t carry on alone. Thank You that we don’t have to muster up the energy to keep going on our own.
