Sheryl Sandberg Instagram – On October 7, Hamas terrorists showed us exactly who they are. Their atrocities — killing, kidnapping, and sexually violating innocent civilians — struck at the heart of the Jewish community. They sought to break one of life’s strongest bonds by destroying entire families in front of each other.
Today, the Civil Commission on October 7th Crimes by Hamas Against Women and Children and the Raoul Wallenberg Center (@therwchr) released a new report on Hamas’ widespread and systematic attacks against families — including murder, abduction, forced separation of families, and burning of their homes, often with families still seeking shelter inside. As the report explains, this kind of weaponization of familial bonds isn’t defined and criminalized in international law, but it should be.
This report honors the suffering of the families who were torn apart by Hamas. And it’s also a call to action for the international community to stand up to protect families across the globe by classifying “kinocide” as a crime against humanity.
