Beverly Joubert Instagram – Some years ago, we were fortunate to spent time with this gorgeous female leopard named Fig as she raised her cub on the plains of the Maasai Mara. A frightening clash with lions left Fig wary of rival cats, so we often found her in the safety of the treetops resting in the boughs and occasionally using her lofty vantage point to launch aerial attacks on prey. This wisdom was passed on her cub, and the youngster quickly learned to use trees to her advantage. Vital knowledge that she’ll no doubt need one day to survive.
