Repost: @them Drag icon and beloved British entertainer The Vivienne, known to friends as James Lee Williams, has passed away over the weekend at 32 according to publicist Simon Jones. Since, loved ones and fellow performers have shared an outpouring of tributes to the superstar. Born in Wales, Williams took to performing from a young age, and moved to Liverpool at 16 to pursue drag. As the Vivienne, she eventually won the first season of “RuPaul’s Drag Race U.K.” in 2019, and went on to compete in “Drag Race All Stars” all-winners season. The Vivienne’s star was still on the rise. RIP BEAUTIFUL SOUL! REPOST @its_onsite Southfield, MI – In a tragic incident, 28-year-old #RobertRidgesIII has been charged with the murder of 29-year-old transgender woman Tahiry “Tokyo” Broom. Authorities allege that Ridges specifically targeted Broom, arranging a meeting through a commercial sex advertisement. The encounter turned fatal on February 9, 2025, in the parking lot of the #RiverstoneApartments, where #TahiryBroom was found with a gunshot wound to the head. Following the incident, Ridges was arrested at the MGM Grand Casino in Detroit. He now faces charges including second-degree murder, carrying a concealed weapon, and felony firearm possession. If convicted, Ridges could face up to life in prison.  Southfield Police Chief Elvin Barren revealed that Ridges had made 33 calls to various sex workers, predominantly Black transgender women, on the morning of the shooting. A search of Ridges’ residence uncovered a stolen Sig Sauer 9mm handgun believed to be the murder weapon.  Broom’s family described her as a vibrant individual who loved making people laugh Her aunt, Patricia Bender, expressed the family’s grief and desire for answers, stating, “You just wanna know why, like why did you do that?” Ridges is being held without bond and scheduled for his next court appearance on February 26. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities urge anyone with information to contact the Southfield Police Department at 248-796-5500 or Crime Stoppers at 800-SPEAK-UP.
Once a person reaches a certain point in their #healing and #selfunderstanding journey those that benefited from them staying in trauma will attempt to inflict even more trauma by attempting to resurface the worst in them and then play victim. A person’s past behavior is not a weapon to be wielded. Give folks especially loved ones, the room to grow, to evolve and to learn. Sending you all lots of love and even though there are many tragedies occurring let’s remember to take space to love ourselves so that we can have overflowing love, strength and capacity to be there for those that need us! It has been tough not knowing what’s next! Pandemic, Strike, and other things I am still processing however when I dance I feel free. I do not comprehend the thought process of others but personally, during the most difficult of times, there is an inner child that helps to protect me, an inner child that makes room for the tears and then heals me, that inner child that reminds me that I have come so far and as long as I can tap into that inner peaceful unknowing innocence I can face anything and be victorious for when I don’t realize that there is fear I go boldly through.
