Sign up for necessary emergency alerts but avoid obsessively checking the news. Ask yourself: What is the actual likelihood of this affecting me, and what steps can I take to prepare? Shifting your perspective and creating a plan can ease anxiety.
❤️ For others: If a friend or loved one has lost their home or is struggling, remember that your presence is more powerful than solutions. Listen, validate, and acknowledge their pain with words like, ‘This must be so surreal for you. Losing so much is devastating, and it’s okay to feel uncertain about the future.’ Simply being there matters.
❤️ When to seek help: If you find yourself consumed by news, experiencing flashbacks, or unable to focus on daily life, these are signs that professional support could help. Therapy can be a vital tool for processing trauma and restoring balance.
