Tom and I had the best time this past weekend at Royal Akarana Yacht Club! ⛵️✨ We completed our Level 1 sailing qualification, learning everything from the basics to spinnakers 🎈, capsizing 🌊, and plenty of theory 📖.
A massive shoutout to our amazing instructor, Harry 👏, who pushed us out of our comfort zones in the best way possible, ensuring we understood all the key elements of sailing ⚓️.
The best part? Doing it together as a couple ❤️ and unlocking a new shared passion! We’re already booking Level 2 to rent sailboats on our own—watch this space! 👀⛵️
We 100% recommend giving sailing a go, whether with a partner, parent, or friend 👨👩👧👦. Both our dads (and my stepdad) grew up sailing 🌊, but we never thought to invest in this skill ourselves growing up. It’s never too late to try something new as an adult—it truly adds so much value to life! 🌟 10/10 recommend! 🙌
