📍Santa Monica Day 4 🔥 I’ve been quiet on socials this week after pivoting plans to head back to LA. My home is just south of the evacuation zone, and while I’m safe near the Santa Monica Pier, the poor air quality and the devastation across the city weigh heavily on my heart. 💔 LA, the city I’ve called home for six years, is burning, and so many have lost their homes, memories, and safe spaces. Watching from afar was heartbreaking, but being here now allows me to help where I can. Santa Monica has a unique heartbeat—playful, chaotic, and full of hidden treasures. Sometimes LA gets a bad rap, but the world is seeing the real LA right now: a city full of dreamers, creators, and some of the most generous, community-focused people. 💪❤️ From opening homes to donating resources and caring for those on the frontlines, I’m so proud of how this community is stepping up. One of my first thoughts during any crisis is for the animals and pets. 🐾 My local shelter and vet are helping house animals in need, so if you or anyone you know needs assistance with pets or finding shelter, please reach out—I’d love to help. This city has my heart, and I know we’ll rebuild together. 🌟 Praying the scheduled winds this weekend don’t cause more destruction 🙏

🌟 Happy 70th to our amazing mum! 🌟 @jill.arkley My mum is the kindest and most generous person on the planet. 💖 Not only is she the most incredible ballet teacher in the world 🩰, but she’s also the first to lend a helping hand whenever anyone needs it. 🤲 She drops everything to be there for us, and she’s a mum and Nana Jill to so many special people beyond our blood family. With the best posture 👯, the ability to do laundry at lightning speed 🧺⚡, and a knack for creating a loving and nourishing environment for everyone 💕, she is truly one of a kind. She met Elizabeth, a mother of eight who had to fled conflict in #SouthSudan, with just the clothes on her back. About 20 years ago, my real dad moved to Port Douglas in Far North Queensland 🏝️. I would visit most years, and he would take me to Habitat, where my fascination with quirky and curious animals began 🐾🦎. @wildlifehabitat Habitat is home to TARC (Tropical Animal Rehabilitation Centre), where the incredible team is dedicated to caring for injured or unwell animals in the area. They focus on nursing them back to health and providing long-term care if they can’t be released back into the wild 🐨💚. Over the past 20 years, I’ve been privileged to go behind the scenes and work with their team of experts who have devoted their lives to helping these amazing creatures. I’ve always felt a strong desire to shine a light on the unique animals that are often feared or overlooked because they don’t look “cute” or “cuddly.” Once you learn a little about them, though, they’re often incredibly lovable and seriously impressive 🐍🦜✨. This past trip was extra special because I got to share the experience with my dad, stepson, and husband. We essentially became keepers for a day, learning about the fascinating animals we don’t have in New Zealand 🐊🌏. NZ Summer 2025 so far 🌞 Just wanted to share some highlights from our holiday adventures! 🚗💨 I seriously love my Honda—it’s been packed to the brim these past few weeks with everything from tents, dive gear, and bikes to BBQs and even our new ice bath (part of our 2025 wellness goals 🧊✨). We explored so much of the North Island, and I’m constantly in awe of Tom’s Tetris-level car-packing skills 🧳—everything perfectly secure and orderly! Here’s to even more adventures, more wellness, and more family fun in 2025 ❤️
48-Hour Family Holiday POWERED BY NATURE! 🌿🚗💚 One of the big things we’ve been working on as a family is mindfulness—particularly being mindful of our footprint and how we can make better choices when it comes to where and how we source our food, the activities we take part in, and how we get around when on holiday. In all honesty, we hadn’t really looked through this lens before when traveling. While we’ve always been about supporting local, we hadn’t actively incorporated conservation into our holiday planning. So, we decided to try a family holiday completely powered by nature—and we LOVED it! 💥✨ We hired our first electric vehicle. Once we figured out how to turn it on (😂), we were so impressed by its responsiveness, the fact that we could look things up on YouTube when the car was parked, and that we only had to charge it once before returning it. @sixtnewzealand 🧡 We stayed at Kinloch Wilderness Retreat, a certified B-Corp and the place where we got married 🥰. This amazing spot is incredibly sustainable, with all their outdoor activities—e-bikes, e-scooters, and kayaking—powered by nature. Their menu is locally sourced, featuring products from amazing Kiwi companies, and their friendly chickens provide more than enough eggs foreveryone’s breakfast 🐔🍳. @kinlochwildernessretreat.nz We also took a few cold plunges as a family to give ourselves a bit of a rev-up. I’ve been incredibly lucky to spend a lot of time on the Great Barrier Reef 🪸🌊 since my dad moved to Port Douglas in Far North Queensland about 20 years ago. Over the years, I fell in love with the reef and the feeling of being underwater, exploring its magic. That love influenced the trajectory of my life and my passion for further education in the marine biology world 🐠💙 When I met Tom, I had recently earned my PADI certification, and he showed interest in learning to dive too 🤿💑. Since then, it’s been on my bucket list to take him to the GBR to share that experience. Thanks to the epic @poseidoncruise_ team (who I always dive with), we finally made it happen! As a family—Tom, Louie, my dad, and I—we snorkeled and dove at three breathtaking locations 😍. We saw white-tipped reef sharks 🦈, lionfish 🐡, stunning coral formations 🌺, and schools of vibrant fish. It was a dream come true, and we created a core memory together 💖. Seeing Louie learn to dive with his snorkel in the open ocean and having my dad join us too is something I’ll treasure forever 🥹💙. If you ever have the chance to visit the reef, I highly recommend it! It’s unlike any other underwater experience I’ve had, and the team at Poseidon truly elevates the experience with their incredible marine biologists and dive experts 🌊✨. 📍 Royal Akarana Yacht Club Tom and I had the best time this past weekend at Royal Akarana Yacht Club! ⛵️✨ We completed our Level 1 sailing qualification, learning everything from the basics to spinnakers 🎈, capsizing 🌊, and plenty of theory 📖. A massive shoutout to our amazing instructor, Harry 👏, who pushed us out of our comfort zones in the best way possible, ensuring we understood all the key elements of sailing ⚓️. The best part? Doing it together as a couple ❤️ and unlocking a new shared passion! We’re already booking Level 2 to rent sailboats on our own—watch this space! 👀⛵️ We 100% recommend giving sailing a go, whether with a partner, parent, or friend 👨👩👧👦. Both our dads (and my stepdad) grew up sailing 🌊, but we never thought to invest in this skill ourselves growing up.
