🚨🚨🚨CORRECTION📢! The vax police have spoken and Smallpox was the wrong reference as it hasnt been a manditory vaccine for many, many years. My bad. I misspoke. This really wasn’t meant to be an antivax post but since it’s become that, lets just pretend I said Chickenpox- a vaccine I personally would prefer not to be forced to give my kids. Again- not claiming to be an expert here, this was a podcast episode about bullying & technology and I was offering my opinion on the need for reconsidering priorities in schools and yes its true, I do not like vaccines manditory for free education. Im allowed to have that opinion. My son is fully vaxed, my daughter is not. Recent history has made me realize a few things about the system I once blindly trusted. As always, I am open to discussing in the comments and am never closed off to correcting myself🚨🚨🚨 Cheap dopamine from scrolling is hurting our kids! It doesnt matter if the content is educational or not, it’s the format in which it’s being fed to their developing brains thats causing them to be less happy and less resilient versions of themselves. I started noticing stark behavior changes in my son after he would have a session of scrolling youtube kids. Not only was he completely disproportionately devastated when his time was up (after given multiple countdown warning)- like as if I was killing his best friend, but I started noticing sustained mood changes that mimicked those ive seen in adult addicts who struggle with substance abuse. The good news is, their brains are so easily wired and rewired, so accepting a new normal like no more scrolling is an easy change for them to adapt to. In this episode I have on the founders of the kind campaign, Lauren Paul and Molly Thompson. We discuss how bullying via technology is an epidemic that is destroying lives on a massive scale. Do you think schools should implement bans on certain technology for young children?

On this episode of @barelyfilteredpod , @kenzieelizabeth and I discuss our success stories usies Nuerofeedback, a type of biofeedback that teaches people to self-regulate their brain function. Kenz also unpacks the unpredictable journey of life changes- grief, evolving friendships, and shifting family dynamics. We discuss the discomfort that comes with change, the surprising people who show up when least expected, and how not every friendship is meant to be forever. Plus, she touches on parenting through divorce, the wisdom of silence, her recent journey with deep grief and the delicate balance of supporting loved ones in grief without saying the wrong thing.
