Yesterday was my husband’s birthday and I took him to shoot clay pigeons as a present. There was another party with us and they unsafely fired in the wrong direction and shot me in the face. @thebrendanrooney immediately sprung into action, assessed me, and rushed me to the hospital. I was hit in 5 places, one was less than an inch from hitting me directly in my right eye. Unfortunately a fragment got lodged behind my eye and it is too risky to remove surgically at this time. Doctors will continue to monitor me (I can see normally at the moment). With everything that happened, all I can think about is how grateful I am to be alive. I love my daughters, husband, family, and friends so much. I saw my life flash before my eyes and I’m telling you, hug the people around you every chance you can. Life can change in an instant. 🙏

UPDATE: It is a miracle. 🙏 The shot was less than 1mm from permanently blinding me. @drseanpaul also explained that the shot missed all the vital parts of my eye by moving around them like a marble hugging the curve of a bowl (it’s an anomaly). The lead fragment must remain in place, as surgically removing it could leave me blind. I should fully recover with no issues at all, though I many never be able to get an MRI again. The shot fragment in my forehead is lodged in my skull and doctors have decided to leave it, as it will accelerate the healing process. He and other doctors will continue to monitor me for the coming weeks and I will keep everyone posted. I am very sore and tired, but I am resting and healing up well. I appreciate all of your support and the support of my husband, children, and family. More to come ❤️
2ND UPDATE: 1 accident, 2 miracles. Dr. Chris Schneider said when the fragment that struck my head hit, it gave me a concussion (explains why I was so woozy). Looks like it’s deep enough into my skull where I can’t remove it, but it also won’t move on its own. The new information on the one lodged behind my eye: it struck my cheek bone which stopped it from entering my brain. My attitude is gratitude ❤️

Selection isn’t about who you are when you start—it’s about who you become when you leave. This week, the DS pulled me aside to dig into my childhood, career, and journey through sobriety. Deep, vulnerable stuff. As a reality show rookie, you just hope those moments are handled with care. But Special Forces isn’t your typical reality show—it’s raw, it’s unfiltered, and it forces you to face yourself in ways you never expected. Much like recovery, it holds you accountable. Looking back, I realize that’s exactly why I came. After our conversation, DS Rudy told me: “No matter how hard the training gets, don’t forget to listen to the birds in the sky.” In that moment, I didn’t just feel watched—I felt seen. I may have been marked a liability in the field, but that only fuels me more that I am back home. I’m walking away with so much more than just eight days—I’m walking away stronger. 💪 #SpecialForcesFOX
What a difference 3 weeks makes. I can’t believe how much I’ve healed. I am so utterly thankful. I should be blind, but I’m not. I have to admit, over the years, I’ve seen the worst sides of people on social media, and while I’ve noticed glimpses of it on my posts since the accident, the outpouring of love and support has been overwhelming ❤️ I’ve always felt like I lacked community. I was raised in a tough family and getting in the biz at age 6, living in NYC, it just hardened me. But this experience has shown me that community is real. I’ve gone back and forth with thousands of you who’ve been sending me DMs and following along in my Stories. I’m truly looking forward to continuing to share my life with you all and to hearing and learning from all of you ❤️❤️❤️
It’s been 3 weeks since I got shot in the face and my life has changed profoundly. I am feeling more grateful than I’ve ever felt in my life and I’m healing really well. Every day, to me, is a gift. I used to be so closed off about sharing the things in my life I loved out of fear of being judged. Now I just don’t care. I’m going to share more about my hobbies, passions, comedy, family, just stuff that I care about. It might be me singing in the car, it might be my obsession with skincare and beauty, or fashion, or cooking, or me just acting like a total weirdo with my husband. If it brings me joy and it’s not hurting anyone, I’m doing it. Also, like I told you @thebrendanrooney I got shot, and I’m gonna eat all the damn Oreos, wherever and whenever I want!
