This is me today. My car broke down and my hayfever is at a 10. European cars a nice but expensive to fix (I was warned I was warned). I’m tired from solo parenting, parenting a neurodiverse child and 3 nights of less than 8 hours sleep – because you know sleep is essential but self discipline is a thing. Also I’m having short hair regret because long hair is objectively lovely and even though I have the vantage point to accept that ‘it’ll grow back’ I’m just sad. And I left a beloved necklace at a beach house and suspect I may never get it back. It’s making me reflect on the trail of jewelry I’ve left around the world – including the family heirloom earrings I was given on my wedding night. Sounds poetic but actually it’s just making me feel sadder. So I’m wearing my daughter’s homemade jewelry to cheer myself up which is having mild therapeutic effects. I guess this is just a PSA to say that not every day’s a party and that’s ok. But whatever happens I’m here for the oysters bb 🦪🦪🦪

Fashionably late as usual. I’ve been having some thoughts and feelings about @netflix ‘s #AppleCiderVinegar. I’m obsessed but not sure if that’s a good thing. In short: 🍏 I was living in the US when Belle Gibson rose to popularity and when she got exposed which might explain my total fascination/obsession with the story now. 🍏 As a cancer survivor I’m perplexed by her lie – but think the writers did a terrific job at helping us underhand her psychology and motivation. 🍏Where is she now? I totally get that she did a very bad thing and deserves the public rejection and shame (and fines) but she’s still a human and a single mum and I can’t help but feeling for her (is that weird?).
