Because of them, I am a mother. Happy Mother’s Day to all the caregivers today. And to all those whose babies are not in there arms, holding space for you too. Once a mother, always a mother.

On May 1st and 5th I hosted a community of parents to stroll with me and @cybex_usa at @west_coast_kids and @hazeltonto to kick off CYBEX Stroll Together for Maternal Mental Health Awareness Month. I’m walking for perinatal mental health, because I experienced postpartum depression first hand. I became a mother in the pandemic and after the birth of my second baby, I couldn’t shake the blues. I just couldn’t find joy in mothering or life at all. It lasted months and took a toll on my ability to be the best mom I could be. That’s why I’ve partnered with CYBEX on their Stroll Together program. Together we’re encouraging new parents to put one foot in front of the other and go for a stroll – with a friend, a neighbor or other new parents. Whether you stroll down the street, around the neighbourhood or across the city, for every registered walk, CYBEX will donate $100 to @lifewithababy, an amazing local charity supporting maternal mental health in Canada. Register using the link in my bio! I am so grateful that my family supported me through this time, and I was able to find a community that reminded me that I wasn’t alone. Because it’s true, you are not alone. That’s why I want to stroll together. To find one another and lift each other up. #CYBEXStrollTogether
HAPPY #internationalfemalerideday 🏍️ As the first rider in my family, safety and skill have been my focus! For me that’s how I have the most fun out on the open road! I’m so grateful for the @harleycanada team… who is mostly woman BTW! @jennmartinxo is a superhero and rad female rider and instructor in the community who has taught me so much! Thank you to all the ladies and mamas who ride and make this community so special! ✨ Like video says… I’ve never been more excited to drop a bike (safely)!!
International Day of Dance. 🪩 Dance has always been my safe place. My forever friend, who has always been there. To hold me, to let me express my joy, sadness – even rage. So much of my early years were defined by dance. The never ending schedule of classes, rehearsals and tours. Never a summer vacation, only summer training and then my summers became auditions, where my heart was held in limbo waiting to know if the end of an intensive would end with and acceptance letter. I’m grateful to have trained first at Simcoe Dance Academy with miss Dorthy. Then Keeping Time, with Miss Sandy. Then I left home for 9th grade to attend @quinteballetschool… Then @esa_dance_department for 10th grade. My dad died that summer… and it took me a min to figure out how to dance, live in the big smoke (Toronto) and be some kind of artist! Shortly after I started my first professional company gig with #CCDT. Donna saw something in my me that allowed me to imagine a career in dance, after a move away from classical ballet. That year I also attended City School on Torontos waterfront, that kind of freedom in learning is what every teenager needs. I took a year to regroup after Roger left. (My dad) did the usual 16, 17 year old searching for my identity and purpose. Growing up! Then I was off to NYC to @theaileyschool It feels good to remember those days. To acknowledge the impact, my everlasting love and honour the dream that I had the pleasure of living out. Dance will always be my first love; home. #internationaldayofdance
