Yesterday, I had the honour of participating in the “Jukwaa la Fikra” Forum, organized by Mwananchi Communications Limited (MCL) in collaboration with the Ministry of Works. I represented the youth of Tanzania in a panel discussion themed: “Building Bridges, Building a Nation – Infrastructure as a Catalyst for Inclusive Growth.” In my contribution, I highlighted the economic and social opportunities arising from the construction of the JP Magufuli Bridge, while also calling upon relevant authorities to consider the establishment of a National Framework for Youth Engagement in Infrastructure Development. While infrastructure projects continue to generate employment, I emphasized that Tanzanian youth must also be empowered financially and institutionally, to enable their full and meaningful participation. It is through such empowerment that young people can demonstrate their capabilities, creativity, and direct involvement in national development. Kwenye miradi inayotekelezwa na serikali; vijana ni wawezeshaji na wanufaika wakubwa. Wawezeshaji kwa maana ya nguvu kazi na taaluma inayotumika inatoka kwa vijana na wanufaika maana baada ya kukamilika kwa miradi hii sisi vijana tunaitumia kujiendeleza kiuchumi na kijamii. Daraja hili la JP Magufuli halihusiani tu na usafiri na usafirishaji bali daraja hili ni fursa. Rai yangu ili kuendelea kutambua umuhimu wa kundi hili la vijana kwenye kutekeleza miradi ya miundombinu nchini ni wakati muafaka wa kuwa na Mpango wa Kitaifa wa Kuwezesha Vijana Kushiriki Ujenzi wa Miundombinu. Ikagusia maeneo ya kuwa na kanzi data ya wataalamu vijana sambamba na uwezeshaji wao kushiriki kwenye miradi hii mikubwa.
