I can’t begin to comprehend the depth of loss that so many are facing. The suffering. The trauma. The unimaginable. I sit here in a beautiful place, in South Africa, knowing that while I work toward something I pray will bring generational healing, others are fighting for survival, constantly. I hate suffering, yet I know it brings growth. I hate the term survival mode because in survival mode, there is no space to think beyond the next moment, other than to grow and that is so hard. And privilege, a word thrown around so easily, it irritates me. I grew up privileged, yes. And because of that, I had the chance to step outside of it, dream and witness a large percentage of the world in survival mode. That truth changed me forever. Thanks mama and daddio for that. I am angry. I am frustrated. I am heartbroken. But I’m all in. This is where we’re at. This is humanity. This is America. This is Africa. And Africa… Africa will be the last standing continent. The mothership. The gold mine of everything great. It was the first, and it will be the last.please don’t give up on hope. I remember talking to my dad years ago and we said if you give up on hope that’s the end. I still agree, don’t forget, listen there are messages for you that can change everything, but you must be listening. May the gaze into our children’s souls be the messengers. They are the gifts that keep on giving. My son Astraeus will be the soul I look into for the rest of my life, eyes opened or closed.

The woman of hope, peace, and compassion, who pioneered paths few ever dared to walk. She led me into the wild 9 years ago, to walk with gorillas, orangutans, and wild elephants. To see the beauty she dedicated her life to protecting has been humbling. The world will miss her presence, her stories, and that powerful voice that carried so much truth with every word. She will forever remain a mentor and an inspiration, reminding me to keep walking for my dreams, to stay in the wild, and to keep the wild, wild. She taught us to listen, to nature, to animals, to the earth itself and to let them remain the greatest teachers of all time. I can only imagine the world feels sadness today, but man did she live a life, one that reminds you of how you want your story to look one day. Rest in peace, as I’m she is, as she was one of the greatest peace makers.

A look into something simple and beautiful 🌱✨ Our partners at @tintswalo_safari joined us in the gardens at Xinyeketi Primary School, where their chefs are giving hands on cooking lessons straight from the soil. Together with the students, they are turning new harvests of eggplant, squash, tomatoes, rice, and spinach into colorful, nourishing meals. It is more than food, it is learning, joy, and connection. Making it fun while doing it, the kids get to see how the garden becomes a kitchen and how the kitchen becomes community. 💚 We are also celebrating Principal @phicancy70 birthday from last week.
