Thought of the day Taking advantage of how women have felt excluded in medicine when it comes to menopause by selling supplements isn’t advancing the conversation, it’s exploitation!
I wrote about a study that was published earlier this year, looking at iron levels and cognitive changes. As iron deficiency can cause symptoms like brain fog and fatigue, which are common in the menopause transition and early menopause. And iron deficiency and anemia are common in the menopause transition and early menopause, it makes sense to look to see if some of the symptoms reported by women could be related to iron deficiency and not menopause per se. It’s a small study, but it’s one of the only ones we have. And the investigators did find that women with higher levels of iron, as measured by ferritin, or less likely to have cognitive concerns. Please head to my sub sack theagenda.com to read more. I also have a couple of other article articles there about iron deficiency and treatment. You can find them by googling Vajenda, iron deficiency, and menopause. And these articles are available for everyone to read.

I wrote about @cbsnews and Bari Weiss and their planned disingenuous “debate” “Has feminism failed women?” They don’t dare use a more accurate title, like “Should women have bank accounts?” What say you @bankofamerica ? This is not a debate, it’s a way to introduce propaganda. Its purpose is to create clips that will feed right-wing social media accounts and podcasts with supposedly gotcha sound bites. It is the essence of news to advance the cause of billionaires and Project 2025. And likely to give Mrs. Allie Beth Stuckey, a forced birther who is against marriage equality (to name a few horrific beliefs) a larger platform. She is a woman who has profited from feminism as she has a bank account, can work outside of the home, and travel the country unchaperoned. Weiss is at CBS for agenda-advancing purposes only. We just saw how she killed a 60 Minutes program at the last minute because it wasn’t flattering to the White House. Everything she touches must be viewed with the real goal in mind-a billionaire, right wing agenda. Please head to TheVajenda.com to read the whole piece.

Latest post on TheVajenda.com is up. It is about some social medial practices that can help reduce our exposure to and the spread of misinformation. I took this from my conversation with @caulfieldtim as we have both spent a lot of time learning about misinformation and its ecosystem. We were both in hearty agreement that selling supplements is a major red flag, because in most cases people need to use misinformation and Cherry-pick the data to sell supplements. Tim has many additional strategies in his book, The Certainty Illusion, which I highly recommend. It would be a great holiday for anyone who spends anytime online trying to learn about their health.

A great example of how a medical professional society responds to new quality research, this is ACOG responding to the article in March 2025 about partner treatment to reduce recurrent BV (head to my Substack to read more about the study and the therapy, just google Vajenda bacterial vaginosis partner therapy). The article was published in March 2025 and in October 2025 a clinical practice update was available from ACOG.
Made Nanaimo bars. Soooooo good. So sweet. The recipe is in the city of Nanaimo website. No baking, but you do need a double boiler or equivalent.

Hey Canada, I will be at the @empire_club in Ottawa on Feb 10 chatting about the impact of misinformation with the @cma_docs This looks like it is going to be an amazing event, and I suspect I will learn a lot. I will put the link in my stories or Google CMA and empire club and Ottawa and I am sure it will come up! Hope to see you there!
