Clea was my personal mentor…I could text her any time day or night. And she was there for me. But she also sent me an early draft of her book and I would read it too. Her description of getting her diagnosis was so true to my same experience. I felt seen. Then, each step of the way I’d refer to a different section of the book (surgery, chemo, radiation, the weird low that hit when I finished my treatments…like Clea, I thought it would be a high, it was a low.) By sharing her journey she made me feel seen and understood and less scared every step of the way.
