One year later. Same hotel. Longer hair. Another great trip to St. Louis for my family’s Thanksmas celebration! Another cozy stay at my favorite hotel @fsstlouis It was exactly 2 years ago in December 2023 that I got the news I had breast cancer. All of my diagnosis and treatment dates are burned into my brain. These “anniversaries” inspire reflection. I try to take a moment and sit with all that has happened. I’m thankful for so many things…health, family, our crazy pets that make us laugh. I’m also very grateful for working. While 2024 was all about cancer treatments, 2025 has been a creative adventure. I spent most of 2024 in an easy chair in my living room. In 2025 I got to travel and film New Years Rev in Oklahoma City and then perform Ashland Avenue at The Goodman Theater in Chicago. Acting again has fed my soul. And, getting to do my podcast Office Ladies each week with my BFF Angela Kinsey is the constant. We started adding a monthly Friday Chit Chat and expanded our @officeladiespod network to include @howwemadeyourmother When I got my diagnosis I wondered if I’d ever be able to work again. So, this past year filled with work and artistic growth has been so meaningful. Most of all I’m thankful to be cancer free. I’m grateful every time I have a new scan and I get that news. (My pink sisters know the anxiety that comes with those scans.) Sending my love to anyone battling a health issue right now. And to everyone else, please don’t skip your mammograms, colonoscopies and skin checks. Happy belated Thanksgiving. I’m going to post more about my trip to St. Louis over this next week and in my stories! We had a blast!

Big news! 🎉 Josh and Craig’s podcast “How We Made Your Mother” is joining the Office Ladies Network! 🎙
Hot damn I love Chicago so much. I don’t want to leave. I love the city. I love the people. I love the lake. I love the artistic community here. Plus, everyone in Chicago keeps asking me the same question… “Where have you eaten?” I love that question. So, here are just a few places I’ve eaten so far. Please drop me suggestions in the comments. My play Ashland Avenue was extended so I’ll be here two more weeks! ASHLAND AVENUE is now on through October 19 only! I don’t want you to miss your chance to see this incredible play. It’s a great night out. It’s about a small business owner in Chicago wrestling with what to do with the fact that his daughter doesn’t want to take over the business. She has other dreams that have been put on hold to service her Dad’s ambitions. But she’s finally ready to make a break. It’s funny and moving…it’s about family and all the ways we are the same and different from the people who raised us. Visit GoodmanTheatre.org/Ashland and enter code CHICAGO to save 50% on select remaining dates. Oh! And @billiejoearmstrong and his @greenday crew came to see the play!

St. Louis Appreciation Post No. 1! We had the most wonderful day visiting The Carousel and Butterfly House in Faust Park. My Dad actually works at The Carousel. We got free rides and I met his workmates Vicki and Debbie. The Carousel is 98 years old, suspended from above by rods attached to a center post. While originally steam-powered, it is now run by an electric motor. The Butterfly House (which is seriously beyond charming and is right next door) was ranked Top 5 Butterfly Gardens in 2025. We got to release a butterfly (we named him Lou). @butterflyhousestl

Happy Publication Day @cleashearer This book is a gift for anyone going through breast cancer diagnosis and treatment. Or for anyone caring for a friend or family member going through treatment. Clea was my personal mentor…I could text her any time day or night. And she was there for me. But she also sent me an early draft of her book and I would read it too. Her description of getting her diagnosis was so true to my same experience. I felt seen. Then, each step of the way I’d refer to a different section of the book (surgery, chemo, radiation, the weird low that hit when I finished my treatments…like Clea, I thought it would be a high, it was a low.) By sharing her journey she made me feel seen and understood and less scared every step of the way. So here I am in my robe in the morning posing with this book that is just glorious. It’s out now! Cancer is Complicated by Clea Shearer.

New Friday Chit Chat on @officeladiespod today. Since our unofficial theme was Travel and Name Dropping, I had to name drop that not only did Eddie Vedder come to the opening of Ashland Avenue but when he got home he messaged me and said he was sending me a prop for the show. It was something from his personal collection of memorabilia and he said this item HAD to live in Pete’s TV shop! I mean how freaking cool was that!! The whole cast and crew blanked out at this gesture. THANK YOU EDDIE! I also talked about how incredible the set of the play is thanks to Kevin Depinet and Alice Maguire…so, I thought I’d film myself giving a little tour. I hope you enjoy! And you can see what Eddie Vedder sent us! Oh! We’ve also been EXTENDED AGAIN! The play will now be running through October 19th! You can get tickets at GoodmanTheatre.org @goodmantheatre Thank you to @hugohentoff for editing together my videos…I think we all know I could not do it myself. Haha.
