I’m so excited to go back to the beautiful island of Hvar in Croatia for the @spartan 100m World Championships, and this time, my mom is racing too!!! Qualifying races are on friday and finals on Saturday- Hope to see you at this event or the next!
When i was little, i climbed everything. My poor mom has an absolute phobia of heights, but rather than try to hold me back, she walked under me with her arms spread wide, ready to catch if I fell. She taught me how to check the strength of a branch before stepping on it, to clear my landing area, and know how to fall safely. 40 years later, she’s still my best life guard, reminding me to check the depth of the water under me. And what’s even more amazing is how at age 73, she’s choosing to face her own fears, one baby step at a time! I love when her gut reaction tells me she can’t, and then a few minutes later, she tells me she wants to try anyway! Anyone else taking baby steps to conquer a lifelong fear?
