Last week of 2025 comprised of showing hubby my hometown. There are some must haves on that list, but also revisiting tourist spots I hadn’t gone to since I was a kid. So it definitely felt nostalgic. Butter Beef at Phnom Penh White Chocolate at Tim Hortons Greek Roast Lamb Honey’s Doughnuts in Deep Cove What else are we missing? (aside from non-Asians 🤭) I know, I’m not helping. We went to Crystal Mall 2x and I felt like I was in HK. You can take my mom out of Asia but you can’t take Asia out of her… 📍Vancouver, BC
Wife Diaries: Episode 2 I’ve had enough chances to learn and I’m doing my best to communicate during the messy parts. It means letting my husband see all of me- esp the parts I used to hide. This year did not turn out the way I thought it would. I carried expectations that were never met, rode emotional roller coasters, and put on a brave face while avoiding the inevitable — the departure of one self to make space for another to arrive. In unpacking my stories, I found lessons that surprised me. Behind the brave face were truths I never saw coming. Perseverance meant allowing space for a new self to emerge, rooted in who I truly am. Rooted in purpose, and letting my soul come home to the places that simply feel right. What did you actually spend your life on this year? Not what you meant to care about. What your time and attention prove you cared about. 2. Where did you knowingly fold? The moments you chose comfort, silence, or approval instead of doing the right thing. 3. What excuse do you keep recycling? The one you use every time change gets uncomfortable. Why does it still work on you? 4. What happens if you keep living like this? Run the timeline forward. What gets worse. What quietly dies. 5. What are you dodging by staying busy? The decision, conversation, risk, or ending you refuse to face. Say what you are scared will happen. 6. Who you turn into if nothing changes? Be honest. Is that version of you respectable. 7. What needs to stop, immediately? Not improve. Not reduce. Stop. 8. What line cuts through your own BS?
