In my conversation with Carisa Erickson (@officialcarisaerickson), she shared the heartbreak of caring for both of her parents through #OvertHepaticEncephalopathy (OHE). She described how painful it was to watch them decline and how deeply the stigma around liver disease affected their willingness to share their struggles.
 
Carisa told me she chooses to share her story today because, in her words, “telling our stories in safe places helps heal the trauma.” Her courage is a reminder that breaking down stigma and finding community can create hope and healing, even in the face of grief.
