Honourable Chief Minishter of Tamil Nadu Selvi J Jayalalitha has passed away yesterday night by 11:30 PM. After being hospitalised for 74 days due to heart ailments and dehydration, she succumbed to her ill health despite the best attempts to treat her. She was 68.
An actress turned politician she has been termed as the Iron Lady by her followers and the other great personalities around India. She has inspired millions of hearts in both her acting career as well as her political career. She has been the highest paid actress of her times following 11 consecutive hits in a single year.
“Despite our best efforts the Honourable Chief Minister’s underlying conditions rendered her unable to recover and she passed away at 11:30 pm.”, read the statement from Apollo Hospitals, Greams Road, where she was being treated.
