I really can’t bring myself to buy a whole new maternity wardrobe, just to wear a few months 😳 I’m making the most of my ‘normal’ clothes, whilst I still can, before I go for it and get bigger stuff. Yesterday, I managed to squeeze myself into this dress (it will be my last time for a while). “You can now visit a loved one”, they said. After months of lockdown, I didn’t need asking twice! I couldn’t get over to Hull to see my Mum quick enough! Sadly, no sooner had I arrived, my waters unexpectedly broke, *very, very* prematurely at just 28 weeks (this is called PPROM). Que me immediately being admitted to the nearest hospital. What followed next was pretty horrendous I’m not gonna lie and traumatic, to put it mildly.😔 . . Over a week later, I haven’t moved and that hospital has become my current home – looks like I won’t be going anywhere for a while. No visitors are allowed, at all-no exceptions-because of Covid so it’s just been me and my bump. Every day that passes, I hope I manage to keep baby inside me so growth can continue. Each morning I wake up, I feel grateful that we got through another day. 🙏🏻 . . This definitely was NOT the pregnancy journey that I envisaged for myself (and definitely not what pregnancy looks like on Instagram) and I’d love for it to be different but it is, what it is. I’m in a very positive mindset and I’m a very strong woman. I believe my bubba will take after me and be a little fighter too. 💪🏻 . . Not everything in life is straightforward and not everything goes to plan. I’ve been on a steep learning curve on everything premature; steroids, infections, c-sections, baby development, magnesium sulphate, brain development, NICU, you name it! . . Pregnancy isn’t all sweetness and cool instagram pics..🤰🤰😂😂. Today I’ve been back to hospital and hooked up to monitor to listen to baby and have an emergency scan. Spent my morning crying, at anything quite frankly (god the hormones can be crazy things 🤣🤣) and now feeling tired out. Everything is fine (and I’ve earnt a takeaway tonight!) so deffo no drama intended (I just have an infection) but as always, I like to show the truth about things, not just the glossy bits.
