It‘s 9 years since I first walked around the old studios at Yalding House and signed up to start piloting for a show. So many big moments have happened since then and I have met friends for life. The team at R1 are the funniest, smartest and most-hardworking. I can’t believe I got to be in the gang for a bit. Huge thanks to Rhys Hughes who believed I could do a show in the John Peel slot talking about new music even though I said I was mainly listening to Paul Simon and Joni Mitchell (!). To Matt Fincham and Adele Cross who very patiently stood with me whilst I crashed the vocals, pressed the wrong buttons and had a prolonged crisis of confidence in those early off-air days (and beyond!). Then I somehow managed to bag the very best producers, who shared their immense experience and time – and often their jokes to say as my own! Let this, my last radio shout out, go to: Stocker, Mel, Tash, Aled, Kate, Ian, Trav, Jenny and Liam. Words can’t do you justice! With their nurturing, we won a Music Week Best Show Award, we did incredible broadcasts from Glastonbury, the Brits, Big Weekends, sessions at Maida Vale and interviewed some of the most exciting people in movies and music. We’ve also had a dead nice time and hopefully said some things that have made you laugh. From 10-midnight with Phil, to Weekend PM, then Weekend Breakfast, and now my Fri/Sat/Suns with Dev, I can’t believe how much we’ve packed in… If you’ve listened to the show or got in touch with one of your amazing stories over the years, I can’t thank you enough. To make jokes all day has just been a gift of a job! *Just to say you can no longer reach me on 81199, new number to follow 🤪 End of an era 🎙📻🎙📻🎙📻🎙 I’ve decided it’s the right time for me to hang up the headphones (not a thing) and say goodbye to Radio 1. After someone kindly tipped me off to a person who might have my bike (that ended up being a dead end), wonderful Alberto, alerted by the gorgeous guys at @paradisecycles, came and met me and gave me my bike back!! He didn’t know he’d bought a stolen one from gumtree but said “I couldn’t keep someone else’s bike”. What a guy. Can’t thank everyone enough for using the hive mind to find it. 💓💓💓🏍💓🏍🏍🏍🏍 UPDATE: We just found both our bikes on gumtree and mine is sold but one is still there. If you bought a cream bike today in Whitechapel please DM me! Will buy it from you and shower you in love and affection. Weird Marley & Me style montage to say goodbye and thanks to the best bike in the world. Can’t believe someone stole it, even though it was inside my building. @jameskennedycb you made me such a lovely one which I just remembered I bought for myself as a birthday present (maybe about 6 years ago?!). It’s done me proud. I needed it to get to work so anyone who knows of any nice bike companies (preferably East or Central so I can walk there…violins) who are still operating and selling bikes please let me know. 💓 🚲 🚲 🚲 UPDATE: We just found both our bikes on gumtree and mine is sold but one is still there. Please don’t look at my first ever sourdough, I’m shy. Yes the starter is an obscene responsibility, yes it has many steps, yes flour is harder to find than any other edible substance. But it sort of looks like one from a shop! I’m not crying, you’re crying…🥖🥖🍞🍞🥯🥯 For easy to follow step-by-step videos can’t recommend @theboywhobakes enough, @marthadelacey is the queen of sourdough and you can do her lessons / course online now (plus make sure you do her Trashcrumps©️) and @thedustyknuckle have great flour (and baked goods obvs) and they deliver! ✅ (also perspective debacle – it’s actually not the size of a crumb, just the angle) Good light and lines on today’s bike ride 〰️🏢🏭 Worth the saddle sores 🚲🌤🏊🏻♂️🏊🏻♀️🏊🏻♂️🏊🏻♂️💥 Hanging with Pete, really mood improving (for me, possibly the opposite for Pete who I’m sure was just happy to sit in the sun uninterrupted) 💓 #blackouttuesday Thanks @we_are_food for nominating me to help raise awareness for the brilliant @coppafeelpeople with #formalfriday – I know there are lots of good causes in need of support right now, but if you were able to spare £5 they are doing vital and life-changing work with breast cancer. Raising awareness by shouting about them is excellent and much appreciated too. You just need to 👔 get out of the stretchy pants and into your finest on a Friday 💵 then donate £5 to @coppafeelpeople 👩🏻🦰 and nominate 5 pals to do the same Because no #formalfriday will ever compete with this frankly far-ahead-of-its-time blouse/skirt/slouch sock combination, I’m cheating a bit… I nominate @hlocks598 @weemissbea @camtstagram @jennifer_keo @angiesmithstyle Must get a new muse 🍃 Gross Clarification: (Not) Flowers 💐 to draw 🖊 from lovely Lulu, Jess & Liv – harvested from their @ssaw.collective fields near Colchester. The brilliant @londonboroughofjam is a pick up point, as well as @pophamsbakery and @leilas_shop if you are East 💓 I have a problem 🥖 Found this picture (from this time 3 years ago when @rosynicholas painted these gorgeous eggs for me) and it really made me smile 🥚 💓🥚 💓🥚 TagsAlice Levine Previous articleActress Shenaz Treasurywala HD Photos and Wallpapers August 2020Next articleActor Prakash Raj HD Photos and Wallpapers August 2020
