I wanted to take a moment to honor and acknowledge #PrideMonth. To me, #Pride represents standing up for yourself and those around you, embracing self-love, and wearing your stripes proudly. I want to thank the incredible community of #LGBTQ individuals and allies for being who you are and doing what you do.
Like many in the LGBTQ community, I’ve had my fair share of challenges around my identity and how I fit into the world, and at times I’ve felt that I couldn’t speak my truth. But I’ve learned that it does get better. Living with #bipolardisorder has helped to teach me that.
Some days are going to be hard. And that’s ok. But the more I can remind myself that I’m proud of who I am and how far I’ve come, and the more I speak up about the support I need and all the things that make me me, whether that’s with my family, friends or all of you – the more good days I have.
So friends: be safe, be well, and be proud.
And if you need a little extra #mentalhealth support today, head over to @bevocal.speakup for information and resources!

No matter what, no matter when, no matter where… I got you, Babe ❤️ @eastofeli ❤️
I’m so proud of this episode. So proud of Alex. Despite becoming #SuperAlex in this episode, the greatest lesson she learns isn’t about having strength, it’s about love. And that’s the powerful thing of all. I hope you all enjoy @supergirlcw tonight ❤️

July is #BIPOCMentalHealthMonth, and while BIPOC (Black, indigenous, people of color) mental health is ALWAYS important, my partner @bevocal.speakup and I are using this moment to listen, learn and speak up about inclusion when it comes to mental health and getting help.
Racism is real and can significantly impact a person’s mental health. People who identify as BIPOC are less likely to get mental health services and are more likely to get lower-quality care because of barriers like stigma and bias.
The experiences of the BIPOC community have to be part of the mental health conversation; too often, they are not. So as an ally, I challenge myself to get educated, have conversations, and dig deeper into my own perceptions and perspectives. I challenge you to do so, too. Change starts with all of us.
I’ve included some resources below. Look, learn and share.
And remember: no matter who you are or how you identify, YOU deserve support. There are organizations and people that can help.
BIPOC mental health resources: @asianmentalhealthcollective @blackmentalwellness @browngirltherapy @indigenouscircleofwellness @therapyforblackgirls @therapyforlatinx
General mental health resources: @crisistextline @800273talk @afspnational @dbsalliance @jedfoundation @mentalhealthamerica @namicommunicate @nationalcouncil @bevocal.speakup

IT’S LITTLE ME! This picture was part of a modeling composite that I had to hand over whenever I went on a casting call for a print ad. I was 12 or 13 here. I’ll be honest, I hated modeling. I hated anything that brought attention to myself because I didn’t feel worthy of the attention. I didn’t like people seeing me. I didn’t feel worthy of anything. But this picture was a rare moment where I didn’t feel pressured to be someone else. It was a rare moment caught when I felt ok to just be me. I look at this picture and realize I can see it one of two ways… I was either climbing that tree to escape or conquering that tree to feel alive. Sometimes I still struggle with the idea that I’m worthy of good things, of good moments. We are transient beings and life is ever-changing, sometimes it feels like I want to climb that tree to escape. But life is so worth living. It’s worth the bumps and bruises and the scrapes if we fall because they only make us stronger and remind us we’re still alive. Live it up today, regardless of your circumstances. Conquer whatever tree you find, even if you can’t get outside. Your journey is worth the climb❤️ Repost from @createchange.me – A message from the Create Change team to our CCO, Chyler @chy_leigh , with this sweet photo courtesy of her hubby, Nathan @eastofeli : “Thank you. For sharing your heart, your compassion and creativity with the world. For being a source of encouragement and inspiration for all of us and countless others. Thank you for being you.” ❤️ #TBT #TrueDat
As someone who’s lived with a mental health disorder, I’ve searched and dug as deep as possible, oftentimes even fighting against myself to be proud of WHO I am. Battles lost and battles won. But I’ve never been so deeply sorry for WHAT I am than in the times where the color of my skin is associated with horrific and unforgivable acts, such as the brutal murder of George Floyd. I, as a white human being, cannot even fathom the utter heartbreak of the black community right now. And not just right now… all throughout history. But statements and conversations alone can’t dictate the course of the future. Action can. Action has to. Go to justiceforbigfloyd.com and sign the petition to demand that justice is served. #sayhisname #georgefloyd
I needed to hear this ❤️ “Remember the good times, let go of the bad times and carry on.” Nathan West, Create Change CEO 💚 #TBT @eastofeli @chy_leigh

This post really resonates. I keep reading it over and over. Change doesn’t happen simply by willing it to do so. Change doesn’t happen if there isn’t an authentic, actualized decision to craft it. Positive and lasting change has to be a constant target, a continual choice, a perpetual motion catapulting us in the right direction to gain enough momentum to finally move forward in society. There should be a deep and raging fire in the bellies and the hearts of the change-makers. A desire for justice and equality that is so infernal, the very soles of our shoes melt with every intentional and forward-thinking step we take. And I recognize that that starts with me. It starts with you. It starts with ALL of us. The time for change is now. It’s taken too long to recognize equality matters. It’s taken too long to recognize love and peace matters. It’s taken way too long to recognize that the lgbtq community matters. And it’s taken FAR too damn long to recognize black lives matter. So say what you mean. Do what you say. And say it louder for those who aren’t listening… 2020 MATTERS!! It’s time to wholeheartedly #createchange

In my experience, #socialmedia is an incredible outlet to share stories, be creative and feel connected. But I also know that it’s a place where people make hurtful comments, where other feeds can give you #FOMO, and – something that I know many of us can relate to – it can be oh so distracting and consuming.
As social media’s role in our day-to-day lives continues to grow – and I think we are all feeling this now more than ever at this moment in time – it’s important to pay attention to how it may be affecting our #mentalhealth and well-being. Luckily, there are simple things you can do to make your experiences more positive and meaningful. I’m partnering with @bevocal.speakup to shed light on this, and to share some tips with you!
Now I want to hear from you. How will you support your mental health on social media? Share your tips by using #BeVocalSpeakUp or tagging @bevocal.speakup #BeVocalSpeakUp #MentalHealthMatters #Sponsored
In recognition of #MentalHealthMonth, I want to share my take on what it looks like as #bipolardisorder gets easier for me to manage over time.
Remember Spirographs – you know, those toys we used as kids that draw the patterns of circular shapes? Well, when it feels like I may be spiraling or that I’m struggling to get back in control – it feels like those bigger, wider circles it makes. But the Spirograph keeps spinning, and as the shapes keep getting smaller and smaller… it’s like things are back in my grasp.
I’m being vocal about my experiences to help open up the #mentalhealth conversation, and you can too. Head over to @bevocal.speakup and let us know how YOU are speaking up during Mental Health Month.
