Ok wow finally awake from a whirlwind weekend. My first time traveling and seeing people I’ve missed so much and feeling scared and anxious and the dream team of Brian, Amy, and Paul made me feel great. There are so many things to say about last night and I’m exhausted from MYOWNEMOTIONS(!!!) so just know I miss that wonderful cast and crew with all of my heart to the point that watching them on tv and not in real life made me laugh and sob and smile and then fall asleep hard. And I am so glad Punkie, Lauren, and Andrew (even though he’s been there absolutely killing it as a writer) get to join this really wonderful family. Welcome!
Ok, now here is something else important I want to say, and it also explains why I love my snl crew. The last two intros I got to have Lucy with me, as shes such a part of my life. Covid rules made it so she couldn’t come be in this one, which was a real bummer for me. I asked our AMAZING head of wardrobe Tom(slash producer slash smoke and mirrors expert slash fairy godmother) if there was a way to incorporate her into my intros. He got back to me immediately and said “let me think”. It was Tuesday I think? On Wednesday night he asked for a picture of Lucy. I turned to my side (where my shadow dog can usually be found) and took a photo and sent to Tom. When I arrived the next day, Thursday, for my intros shoot at 30 Rock, he handed me a little blue box and inside was the most special necklace. They found a way to keep Lucy in my intros. And that’s just one reason out of a million these people are my favorite. (And thank you @joewhitmeyer @jodimancusohairdesign @eeags and Tom for sending me a perfect Kimberly look and @doylebird and @caroline.maroney for making it happen so I could still feel like I was a part of this show that is my home no matter where I am. And there’s nothing like walking into a room of strangers wearing big fake titties and then screaming for 20 minutes)

I put on a whole face of makeup and curled my hair for what I then realized was just a phone interview. Needless to say, I was a little bit gobbleegooblee in the membraine to get to speak to one half of the Lunts from Blaine ❤️ Thank you to Dave Itzkoff for somehow editing all my excited giggles into words. (I normally would have made this a story, but I thought I haven’t been posting much and this would be a thing that felt pretty durn good to see when I come here)

Thanks @redwingheritage for these cool boots that I let myself finally open and wear as a celebration after I sent in my ballot. I voted from Canada with help from a friend who received the ballot for me at my address in NY (since I wasn’t sure where I’d be by the time it arrived sometime between September and October{!!!}) and then sent it straight to me on set in Vancouver. Kev gave me his pen since I couldn’t find one. Voting isn’t quite as straightforward or simple this year (Although I guess that’s a true statement across the board for everything this year) so let’s make sure to help each other out. Maybe it’s a ride to the polls. Maybe it’s babysitting for someone so they can stand in a longer than usual line. Maybe it’s dropping off absentee ballots at a collection box for people who are unable to do it themselves. Maybe it’s a reminder phone call to a friend you know is a lil forgetful 🙂 Maybe it’s just loaning someone a pen! There are a lot of things being done and money being spent right now to try to keep you from voting- that’s how you know how crazy important it is. So vote, bb! 💋✌🏼💥💃🏻🍕🍷🗽
My best friend made a movie! And it’s on iTunes now so you can buy it and watch it! And I’m so glad and proud and braggy because it’s so good and they are both such amazing musicians and human beings and did I mention DASS MY BEST FRIEND!?! Amy Solomon is a dang hero and she reached out to me summer of 2019 with the most exciting challenge- to write anything at all I wanted to be part of the coolest book of hilarious gals and I am so honored to get to see my words under the same cover as these gals. I am gonna need a coffee table in every room in my house now so I can display the funk out of this book!
