Wowzers. Where to begin. I spent two hours deciding which pictures and videos to share – these are few of many memories. That’s me kissing Fawzia @thefawz , the director and writer of Me, My Mom & Sharmila – thank you for trusting me to be part of telling a beautifully written mother/daughter story, trusting me with your language, and characters close to your heart. Thank you to my coach and all my comrades at @gracemoonarts who held me accountable to be able to tell the story, for manifesting @hmzlhq and I working in a film together years ago. Every part of it – the late night/early morning coachings, acting with one of my closest friends, being in Pakistan was a dream. To the entire MMMS team – thank you for the opportunity to work and live in Pakistan. It meant not only the world to me, but my parents who’ve never been able to visit their place of ancestry. I got to see Pakistan with my eyes for their hearts. I loved that most of the heads of departments were women, taking their rightful place. You all taught me so much – mostly, about service. To Pakistan – I have never met people who’ve more selflessly been in service. Finding joy in service. Something in my bones that I’m now so clearly reminded of. Thank you for reminding me of the woman I’m supposed to be – not yet am, but in the journey. Cheers to unity. Cheers to love & storytelling. A

Worken the stand-up process in Seattle. Happy Pride! 🌈💃🏽
Elections are happening in many parts of the world right now. America, Italy to name a few. Women make a little over half the population in the United States. And yet, some elected officials have failed to represent us and female rights. Voting is a privilege and we can use it to bring the right candidates in office. We, as the people, have the power to shape our democracies. Let’s bring our enthusiasm, joy, and collective power to the polls. #votingsuitsyou @argent #midtermelections #vote
There is so much tragedy in the world, and I often overlook all of the wonderful things that are also happening. As much as I see the problems of the world, there is also beauty and love. Here are a few stories from this past year that remind me of all the good that is happening. What moments have made you smile this year and last? Seen above: 1. Michelle Yeoh wins Golden Globe Award. She dedicates it to all minority actors. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-64232678 2. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is named person of the year. His commitment and love for his country and people is exemplary. https://www.cnn.com/2022/12/07/europe/zelensky-time-person-year-intl/index.html 3. Been thinking about this part of the actors vow a lot. #actorsvow
Period. #bansoffourbodies @womensmarch
When you’re standing in a beautiful stage in the Pompei Ruins and don’t know whether to laugh or cry… perform a monologue! Play: Better Living Playwright: George F. Walker (Dear Mr. Walker, if by my fortunate luck you ever see this, please forgive me for butchering your brilliant words. I sort of put together a number of genius lines from your play to make a cool monologue 🤦🏽♀️) #canadianplay #theatrenerd
The graceful, majestic Marwari horse of India. What a beauty. So many tales of this worshipped horse – an old myth says these Indian horses descended from the tears of crying Gods to protect and become warriors for the people. 💕
Im still thinking, and will continue thinking, about Roe vs. Wade. Remember when Dirty Dancing started the conversation about reproductive rights…almost 40 years ago?!? This is part two of Sir. Chaplin’s phenomenal and emotional monologue from his movie The Great Dictator. These artistic words speak my feelings about the state of the world. Film: The Great Dictator Screenplay: Charlie Chaplin
