#SitaraHimalaya is a Well-Being Center imbued with the profound joys of good design; an indulgence of all the senses grounded in a distinctly Indian approach towards living well. It contains the creative stamp of Anita Lal, the visionary founder of iconic lifestyle brand @goodearth everywhere; authentic expressions of hospitality, beauty, nature and Indian wisdom. In a world that standardises and applies rigid interpretations of wellness, #SitaraHimalaya is unique. Here, good health is equated to joy while incorporating traditional approaches to healing. As a veteran of Wellness Resorts and Retreats I can honestly say I’ve never experienced another place quite the same.
Nestled in the scenic village of Kothi at an altitude of 8200 feet, surrounded by the magnitude of Himalayan peaks, a ballet begins between the environment and yourself as soon as you enter the grounds of landscaped wild flowers. The interiors are unparalleled as you would expect. Sensual and earthy fragrances, Banarasi silk wallpaper, snow capped views and velvety ‘gossip corners’ beckon at every turn. There’s a stunning glass roofed ‘Skylight’ conservatory where you can experience the galaxies at night or curl up with a book in the day, absorbing the purity of mountain light.
Spa therapies at Svasthi are holistic affairs, rooted in the concepts of the Vedas and the hot water plunge pool scented with Deodar became a daily indulgence. The daily yoga class is held amongst astonishing views. While we breathed and moved I recalled Mrs Lal sharing that the very spot – they say- where Rishi Ved Vyas meditated for 12 years before inscribing eternal, revealed wisdom of the four Vedas lay behind us.
We hiked, we gathered over exquisite meals and revealed at times, our hearts to each other. Here, design is more than a visual tool. It leads to the alchemy of the right environment to amplify potential, to experience connection and all the astonishments of the world: sparkle, joy, peace and dare I say, healing.
Thank you @neroliblooms for your warmth and wisdom. Thank you @pareinathapar and the staff who are more family at Sitara and everyone who made this experience magical.

Sublime views of the Himalayas from #sitarahimalaya and one from a day trip to Lahaul. I know I’m obsessed and can easily spend hours merging with the mountains’ many moods.
I’m sure there’s a few of you out there who similarly hear your soul sing gazing at these glorious peaks.

Not only were you simply the Best, Tina, you leave us with a legacy of rising above the odds and meeting life with fierce, joyful, unforgettable self- determination.
If you grew up with Tina like I did, there’s only ever going to be one Queen of Rock.
“But I’ll tell you what hermits realize. If you go off into a far, far forest and get very quiet, you’ll come to understand that you’re connected with everything.” – Alan Watts
See my previous post on #SitaraHimalaya for more information about this singular Well-Being Resort experience.
This is an appreciation reel for the stolen moments of the last few days.
I will hold onto the laughter, magic, corny jokes and fire-lit memories until next time.
Thank you @neroliblooms for revelations large and small and for the endless inspiration of how to live well.
To the ever attentive staff at #SitaraHimalyas – Vijaylaxmi, Grand Master @navarinonarah (multi-talented resident hero and possessor of the most enviable playlists) sublimely talented chef @aman.singhal23, Prabal, Deepti- and everyone who looked after us with care – deep bows.
Thank you @pareinathapar for folding this mountain girl into your brood and @dailystylematters for somehow intuiting how much I would love Sitara and connecting the dots.
Sisters and fellow travellers, seekers, joy-lovers and Sitaras – what an extraordinary opportunity to turn off our phones (for a few hours at least) and cross out a few days in our planners to commune together. Love you all

Excited to collaborate with Suleman Faisal once again! I had the pleasure of curating a fantastic project for Coca Cola, where Suleman created a remarkable installation supporting the multinational’s women workforce. Thrilled to have him on board for the show ‘Before Meets After’ for @theupsidespace bringing a unique perspective to the curatorial premise.
•
Suleman Faisal, a visual artist and educator based in Lahore, Pakistan, explores various mediums including sculptures, videos, and performances. His multidisciplinary artworks delve into the latent aggression found within humans and objects, highlighting the subtle acts of violence inherent in socially-acceptable activities like cooking, hosting, or manufacturing.
•
In Rhythm I, Faisal vividly portrays the aggressive undertones of traditional cooking, where the act of preparing a meal involves taking the life of an animal or uprooting live vegetation from the earth.
As a pacifist who delights in cooking and sharing meals, Suleman confronts a paradox when confronted with acts of violence like chopping and slicing, which contradict the joy of sharing.
•
Check out Rhythm I, available for purchase at @theupsidespace, as part of the exhibition Before Meets After, curated by Ambereen Karamat.
