20 years ago, in June of 2003, I made my first-large scale USO tour to Iraq in support of our nation’s service members.
On the day we departed from Washington DC aboard a Northwest Airlines 747, I had no idea the impact it would have on my life. This trip, where I was fortunate to visit with troops stationed at Camp Udari, Camp Doha, Camp Sayliyah, and in and around Baghdad, was the first of over 100 USO tours overseas and across the country that I would make in the coming years. It was a landmark moment in my journey from self to service, playing a pivotal role in the creation of the Gary Sinise Foundation.
20 years later, I am truly a Grateful American.
My Friends,
I can’t believe it. You are absolutely incredible.
We surpassed our goal before our 12th Anniversary Day of Giving even began.
Together, we’ve raised over $300,000. With the triple match from the Bob & Dolores Hope Foundation, our total is over $900,000, that will go to support our nation’s heroes and their families.

I’m overwhelmed with emotions right now.
We’ve spent the past twelve years together improving the lives of those who sacrifice for our safety and security. We serve them. We celebrate them. We honor them.
I can’t thank you enough. Remember, you help make every home, hug, and handshake possible.
I’m a Grateful American.
God bless you.
My Friends!
I have exciting news to share with you. In celebration of our 12th Anniversary Day of Giving, Bob & Dolores Hope Foundation has generously offered a $300,000 TRIPLE MATCH. I am so honored by their belief in our mission.
Bob Hope set the standard high for fifty years by always showing up for America’s service members. His commitment lifted their spirits with his incredible talent, bringing endless joy and laughter to all those who serve.
Over the years, his legacy and service have been carried on by his amazing daughter Linda and the foundation he and his wife Dolores created. My heartfelt thanks goes out to them for their support.
With your help, the Gary Sinise Foundation has the opportunity to raise $900,000 to support our programs impacting the lives of our heroes in need and the families who sacrifice right alongside them.
The past twelve years have been some of the most meaningful years of my life. I’ve seen firsthand the impact we’ve made together. I’ve been able to count on your kindness, your generosity, and your support every step of the way. And for that, I am truly a Grateful American.
I can’t wait to share more with you in the coming week. Stay tuned!
Your pal,
Gary

Honored to meet with members of the Highland Park Police and Fire Departments before our Gary Sinise Foundation Concert for Highland Park on July 4. The band rocked and it was so nice to see folks enjoying themselves on what was a difficult one year anniversary for my hometown. #highlandparkstrong

Hey Folks, August 7 is National Purple Heart Day. In my latest column for AARP’s Veteran Report newsletter, I share about meeting wounded hero and quadruple amputee, Staff Sgt. Travis Mills. Travis is an incredible inspiration and it’s my honor to share his story as a way to honor the brave men and women who have been wounded in service to our country. #linkinbio
I’m excited to share that I am officially a columnist for the AARP Veteran Report newsletter. With the 12th anniversary of the Gary Sinise Foundation tomorrow, there’s no better time to celebrate our nation’s defenders. Read my latest column, out today.

Today’s the day, folks!
And I have MORE incredible news.
The Bob & Dolores Hope Foundation were so inspired by your enthusiasm and love for our mission, they extended their TRIPLE MATCH to $500,000.
I am stunned.
This means we could actually raise $1.5 MILLION DOLLARS in celebration of our 12th Anniversary Day of Giving. Just incredible. If you would like to have your donation triple matched, please go to the link in my bio.
The past twelve years have been some of the most meaningful years of my life. I’ve seen firsthand the sacrifices our defenders make every day. Our severely wounded veterans struggling at home, all those suffering the invisible wounds of war, every first responder who rushes into danger, and the families of fallen heroes grieving their loved ones who never returned—we never forget them.
You’ve joined me on this mission every step of the way. Your kindness, your generosity, and your support has never faltered. And for that, I am a Grateful American.
To everyone who’s already donated, I cannot thank you enough. Your gift allows us to continue our life-changing outreach.
Your pal,
Gary
