The Deer of Nara 🦌 cannot be ignored, their photobombing has reached a new height. Seriously, I’ve got no Shika Sembei (Deer Crackers) for you mate! Should the city stop allowing tourists to feed the deer? Saw 3 near misses with cars, deer running across roads to get to tourists with food and yet — they’re an inseparable part of the city’s image 😂 cute — but dangerous. Now how do I clean off the bottom of my shoes 💩 before getting on the Shinkansen?

You can tell local areas in Japan that international visitors want to come to the small towns but unless they see them visiting, it’s hard to imagine for some regions. I hope more people come to visit Japan’s small towns. This was a fantastic chance to see and share rural Japan and perhaps we’ll do it again in 2024! Where should we go next?

Filming Hokkaido SCALLOPS → 🇯🇵ホタテ(hotate) which doesn’t get enough respect in the seafood family like Maguro (Tuna) Crab, Salmon 🍣 but WOW — when you meet a master of the dish and craft, learn about the ingredients, the dish, it makes it special and even more delicious! Grilled, wrapped in seaweed, sashimi ^_^ Thank you Chef Ito for the lesson and meal 😋

Tokyo’s islands are amazing and so unknown. This is Ogasawara in 2018. (I dream to go back to Japan’s Galapagos!)
