This is what humanity sounds like. I wish more of us, as human beings, could walk this out together. I wish I could’ve given this brother some support during this time. Because we all need love and compassion, as human beings. If something doesn’t happen in your heart while watching this then you may have given up on humanity. And you are in serious trouble. Because you are probably waiting patiently to finish dying…Help heal yourself by helping to heal someone else. Be humane to humans.
Actor, author, family man- much respect and much needed Adjustment! 🙌🏼 @alldondre Book: @malevsman #chiropractor #adjustment #crack #feelsgood #wellness
This is my brother @jolly_good_ginger twice over veteran who served in the military for all of you “patriots”. He is my brother because he tells the truth. Listen…
I’ve gotten messages all week about this topic asking me how I felt about it and what my opinion was. So let’s do it. Soooooooo many women were on fire about that interview. And I completely get why! I just sat back, watched and LISTENED. You may hear me speak a lot, and many of you acknowledge that I am a great communicator. Well in order to be that you have to be a great LISTENER first!!!! And therein lies the problem. Most people don’t LISTEN!!!! Far too many women (not all, but too many) fall for men because of their ACCOMPLISHMENTS. So THOSE kind of women immediately think that a guy is valuable because of his accomplishments and the perception of what that means monetarily. Again, therein lies the problem. Because when they heard Jonathan make the comment about “not knowing who Simone was” they immediately got offended. Why? Because that’s how THEY value MEN. Gold medals, Grammy’s, world championships, etc. Jonathan, like most men, doesn’t value his woman based on her accomplishments. He, like most men, values his woman based on compatibility. So many women thought that he was diminishing her accomplishments because he didn’t value her because of them. But again, LISTEN!!!! He values her because of what she IS!!! Not what she DOES!!!! And here’s what’s crazy, those same women are PISSED at Simone that she isn’t swayed by their energy. And if we’re patient, those same women will turn on her and start talking about her height, complexion and her hair!!!! QUICKLY!!!! Why? Because it was never about Simone in the first place.
Y’all ain’t ready to hear this…y’all still want to have a conversation about how HE isn’t perfect or how SHE wasn’t perfect. Meanwhile you are FARRRRRRR from being all the things that you demand in someone else!!!!! Get yo’ pad and pen and takes notes. And then get yo’ behind in gear and apply this. Immediately!!!!
What she was really asking was “what happens when you’re dating a man who’s being more HUMAN than you?” Because being HARD is a LEARNED behavior!!!!! And you have to consciously unlearn or undo those behaviors. Sisters, listen CAREFULLY—if a man doesn’t show up “soft” or “vulnerable” with YOU he will KILL YOU with his frustrations and angers. He’s making himself safe for you by not being his warrior self with you. And if you think he doesn’t HAVE a warrior self and he’s always “soft” and you can’t respect that, then ask yourself why you’re with him. Because that becomes more about you than him. And remember, if it IS about him then don’t be with him. So again, everything comes back to SELF…for men and women. Merry Christmas. 🗣️ @trippfontane 📺 @tonightsconversation
People take themselves too seriously. I don’t… so I introduced my son Dré to Phil Collins’ Sussudio. I’m pretty sure I scarred him for life but he gets the point. Lol.
Jim Carrey is an astute human being. This is precisely why we all need to be true to ourselves. Acting is what I DO. But it is NOT who I AM!!! Figure out who you are and be true to yourself. Sage words….
There are so many things here that I can barely stand it. But off the top of my head let’s deal with these lunchables first— 1-when people from underserved and under resourced communities, particularly people of color, feel like they have to break the law to give their children “a chance at a future” society rarely sees their humanity. 2-Felicity Huffman was sentenced to 2 weeks in prison for this crime. While other women, Black women, have gotten lengthy sentences for trying to send their children to better public schools outside of poverty stricken environments by falsifying their residence. 3-This woman has made millions of dollars. Her daughter would have been fine. The guy told her that her child wouldn’t get into the colleges SHE wanted. Not that she wouldn’t get into ANY colleges!!!! So now this comes down to your wants and not your needs. 4-And lastly, allowing your child to find her way based on her own merits doesn’t make you a bad mother. Teaching her that she deserves MORE than her ABILITIES, and to break the law and cheat other people out of their rightful place, does!!!
Rottweilers are one of the funniest breeds on the planet. And Deuce is by far one of the greatest dogs I’ve ever encountered in my entire life. Our family is so lucky to have him. He always makes me smile and always gives me positive energy. Even when we’re joking around. And as you can hear, he is always very vocal. As many Rottweilers are…
Forgive the language being used but sometimes it is necessary to hear it raw and uncut… I say this often—“it is very difficult to be what tou dont see.” We often MIRROR what has been MODELED for us!! And here is further evidence to drive home the point. Brother @tyrese lays it out for you in simple terms. This is why I do what I do…so we can break this generational curse! Not of ABSENTEE fathers. But if UNINFORMED fathers!!!!!
Ok so who’s the thug. I’m confused. Because society says that Black men are thugs. Yet it OBVIOUSLY is this small white woman with a badge who’s supposed to be a “peace officer”. Instead she’s a “PIECE officer”! Because if you’re places in her care you’ll be left in pieces!!!! America, thugs don’t get determined by COLOR. They get determined by CHARACTER. And this woman has NONE!!!! From her maniacal “yeahhhhh” to her street language while in uniform to her obvious enjoyment in doling out this painful experience. Take her badge, her gun and her pension.
I can’t tell you how often I explain this to women. And so many women take this personally when they shouldn’t. Women are essential in the development of a boys life. Women are essential in the development of a girls life. Mothers play a gigantic role in the development of their child’s life. With all of that being said, Fathers play an essential role as well. Specifically, with a son, he plays the role of the boundary keeper. That’s why most moms, the biggest threat that they can offer to their son is, “wait until your father gets home.” And it’s not simply the threat of violence. It is the threat of nonnegotiable, immovable, loving but firm, accountability. That boy knows that there is no getting around the accountability of his father. This is called HEALTHY fear! And this healthy fear of having to face that kind of consistent accountability that says, “I love you enough to hug you, build you and shake you up if necessary, Fathers, I celebrate you and I lift you up. Because at the end of the day, when a young boy doesn’t grow to be a man that society celebrates, the first thing that people will say is “where was his father?”
Quick Halloween flashback performance. On a dare I was challenged to do a little RUN performance to match my costume! No problem!!!! Shout out to my homie DMC played by @antoniodixonofficial
As a plant based person, I am always loving to try to further incorporate whole foods and plant based alternatives to address my health. Because all companies that say they are about wellness, are seeking to find a patent on a product that they sell, that addresses a need that a plant already does!!!! I absolutely LOATHE big pharma and am always suspicious of the FDA and here’s why!
This woman lived her life as a man for a while as an experiment. She quickly found out that living life as a man has distinct struggles. And she went into a depression during the experience. She unfortunately took her life not long after the experiment. Men don’t have it better. No one has it better. And that’s our problem as a society. We are all trying to prove that our tribal sides are better and the other side is worse. At best, we all have our unique challenges and struggles that need to be overcome. As I often tell clients that I work with, “be slow to judge and quick to understand.” If you understand someone’s journey you would find it difficult to judge their behavior. You’ll find it easier to have empathy and give grace to their humanity if you understand what they’ve been through. Ladies, my sisters (Black, brown, white and otherwise) we as men suffer mightily in key areas. Because we’re human. On behalf of all of us, you need us and we need you. As a team, we can help restore and resuscitate society. Men and women shouldn’t be competing with each other we should be complementing each other. Our differences complement each other’s weaknesses. That’s how it’s supposed be.
Spending my time and energy in making sure that my son @drewhitfield_ is his best self sometimes prevents me from being mine. So sometimes I have to focus on my swing. Always a work in progress but this swing can manage a golf course and a scorecard. I love this game. And the time it gives me with my son…
It’s exhausting speaking to people about what is painfully obvious-WE ARE HUMAN BEINGS FIRST!!!!!! And ALL humanity needs to be protected and advocated for. Even those that oppose your views or stances. Listen to these acutely accurate words from my brother @realdlhughley And if this doesn’t feel good to you then you are probably a part of the problem.
I kept seeing other people bring their dogs to the country club. So, “when in Rome”…Deuce had the best time ever and so did I. #RottiesKnowGolf
This is my sister and friend @zainabjohnson I have known her for many years, shared the stage with her, watched her grow and supported her from day one. When she had hair, shaved it bald and grew it back again. Through all of that her comedy has always been funny and thoughtful. She is a Muslim, so HIJABS OFF is appropriately titled. Because she pulls no punches in her first special and does it in “the round”. This lady is funny and great to watch. Follow her and most importantly watch this on @primevideo now!
Tomorrow. It goes down again. Me and my partner in crime talking about codes of conduct for men and women to becoming great partners. And what we do that gets in the way and gets us in trouble. Join us and join in!!!!
As an author, who happens to be Black, I can tell you that writing a book is not an easy task. Because the challenges don’t just come in the form of rendering of your thoughts and feelings that you wish to project. But often you will also have to overcome the stereotypes and discouraging narratives that you receive along the way. I had my own very own teachers, that didn’t look like me, insisting that I was not a good writer all by the tender stage of the 4th grade. So it is my honor to present to you a book and an author who will inspire many that look like us. Not just to read but to create works that others will read as well. My daughter @parker.whitfield attends @spelman_college and her friend and @morehouse1867 brother has written a children’s book called BORN DRIVEN. Based on the true story of the first African American NASCAR champion Wendell Scott, Born Driven is an uplifting tale celebrating the power of persistence and big dreams. It’s one of my favorite stories about our people’s accomplishments in American history. And its author is Saxton Moore, Jr @_sax10_ It hits the shelves and sites TODAY. (Barnes & Noble, Amazon, etc) Please order this book for a child you wish to inspire to dream and to counter the negative narratives that they have probably already been fed. I couldn’t be more proud of this book and of Saxton. And you should be too!!! Go out and get it now….
