⚓️Black doctors in the military- the numbers are so small I can’t find an accurate statistic
…Less than 6% of all US physicians are black.
To be clear- my opportunities came on the backs of black sailors and soldiers who fought (and died) so I could serve- and I am grateful for their sacrifice and thankful for their service.

Some people will re-victimize you when you share what’s happening in your relationship (especially if the man holds a certain “status” in the community)- so we understand why people endure years of abuse and oftentimes don’t share the trauma in their relationships with friends/family.
Money and status allow some people to prey on those they hold power over. I get such gratification when the predators are forced to pay for what they have done.
Nope, don’t know all the details, but what I know is sharing your story, especially one filled with hurt, shame and trauma -takes courage.

When given a compliment, instead of saying “thank you”, women are taught to pick ourselves apart. We get uncomfortable, self-conscious and even put ourselves down and explain why we don’t deserve what others see (and admire) in us.
I have learned, though self-work, what self- love is. And although I’m not perfect (see, I did it again), I am proud of the woman I am today ❤️
