Welcome to the hostile place on the planet. ⚠️ The acidic pools of Dollol in the Danakil Depression, Ethiopia. Anyone wanna swim? Trip by @the_vigillant Shot by @bmcreative.video Camera @insta360
We see travel wrong. Tourist friendly countries are backwards. Go stand in the bike lane in Amsterdam. Then go pillage scrap metal with Angolan Shipwreckers. The biggest hearts are in the furthest places. The kindest people are in the countries with Travel Advisories. Just no one is there to tell their story. Except people like me. My favourite part of showing you the world, is breaking down the propaganda that it is dangerous. The world is kind. But you have to leave home to see it. 🐉 Trip by @kumbukumbtours Partner in crime @bmcreative.video
Air is 46C (115F), Water is 42C (108F). But we still chillin’ in the pool Ethiopia style G!🤙🏻 Now, get me an ambulance. Look at the color of my face for gods sake. 🥵 Anyone down for a quick, salty, and dangerously hot swim? No? Shot by @bmcreative.video Trip by @the_vigillant
My feet have widened and calloused. My mind has done the same. I’ve stopped wearing shoes and underwear. Sunscreen and deodorant. 3 Million years an ape. 100 years a consumer. I’ve learned to trust my body. Not TV commercials and advertising. I now question things more. Not because I don’t believe, but because I want to see if they do. They tell white lies through golden teeth, Sanitizer for my hands, Insoles for my shoes, pills for the pain, A fake plastic coating over the true human experience. We’re being sold the solution, after being sold the cause. Comfortable and convenient options for everything. We’re soft like the marshmallow we eat. Our mind and body have stopped trying. They only work as much as they have to. The solution is not easing the pain. It is pain. It is not curing to suffering, it is suffering. Neither can be avoided. Unfortunately it is the human condition. We’re a species given everything we’ve ever wanted and we’re more miserable than ever. Finding meaning in your pain and suffering is the only way to be free of it. Your body is an amazing tool. A weapon of mass adaptation. We just don’t give it a chance. So the next time you’re outside, take off your shoes and walk in gravel for a while. The next time you’re in sun, take in those beautiful rays without the sunscreen for a bit. The next time you have a meal, eat with your hands, maybe even forget wash them. Do these gently at first, it takes time. People ask me how I survive these expeditions, how I rarely get sick, and how I handle the hottest and harshest places on the planet. It’s because I trust my body. I test it all the time. Saunas, sun, earth, ice and sweat. Humans do have a superpower. A hidden ability that has allowed us to outcompete everything else in nature. It’s Adaptation, and for some reason, we are hellbent on destroying it. Like the callouses on your feet, the tan on your skin, your iron gut, or your bulletproof patience It does not come from comfort. It comes from challenge. Your superpower does not come from comfort. It comes pain and suffering. It comes from challenge. 🐉 Photo by @bmcreative.video Trip by @the_vigillant
LESSONS FROM 72H with the Yanomami Tribe of Venezuela. One of the most isolated tribes in the Amazon Rainforest. Hunting, fishing, and blowing Yopo. These are the moments I’m searching for. Authentic connection with people living lives so different than mine. The wisdom from just a few days lasts forever. Some big take always: 1. We must battle daily with our inner worlds. Most sicknesses are spiritual. The greatest wars are inside ourselves. 2. Barefoot allows a connection to earth. None of the Yanomami have ever worn shoes. Allow your body adapt and it will. We coddle our bodies too much, and we are weak because of it. 3. We become everything when we die. We melt into the earth, physically and spiritually. We are connected to everything. We came from it, and we will return to it. Every leaf has the soul of a person imbued inside. Treat it with respect. 4. Jaguars and Vipers are f*cking scary. There is no shame in fear, it must be embraced. Otherwise fear will kill your mind. 5. Loin-clothes are in. A bright red thong is the perfect wardrobe for the Amazon. I’m not wrong. You’re wrong. Photos by @rodrigoungaro Big love to @vidafuria If you want to visit Venezuela, message them on Instagram. This country is WILD. 🇻🇪

When you can’t speak, dance. The international language, and number 1 travel skill I didn’t know I had until I left home. How do humans share their stories when they don’t speak the same language? We all sing, we all dance ❤️ Angola series coming soon 🇦🇴 Captures by @bmcreative.video Trip by @kumbukumbtours
Mike Corey = The Real Life Indiana Jones? @skycowans and her crew flew down to Mexico to meet me and spend 36h on an expedition. After wasp stings, diarrhea, venomous snakes, and human remains we emerged from the Mayan Underworld. The video is now posted on YouTube. Can’t say I mind the comparison. Think I play a good Indy? Check the video in my stories 🤠 Thanks to @skycowans for the epic collab and @tours_sukun for all logistics and planning 🐍

2 MILLION SUBSCRIBERS ON YT 🔥 Thanks for coming with me during the scarification, the baboon hunting, the body suspension, the diarrhea and other fun! Some words I inked before heading on this next expedition: “We cannot avoid fear, it is as human as breathing. Therefor fearlessness is not the lack of fear, it is an action in the face of it. It is a defiant step forward, when most back away. It is a choice. We can all CHOOSE to be fearless in any moment.” Thank you fam ❤️🐉 Tell me in the comments what’s been your favorite adventure?

Goat for dinner 🐐 Question: Is this animal cruelty? Or does it just feel more cruel when we see it? Is it better when the truth is tucked away behind the stainless steel doors of a factory farm; buried away like the guilt of what eating meat actually means? I’ll always accept the offer to do the act. As a meat eater it’s your responsibility to have a deep understanding of where meat comes from. You have to honor the life, not just throw it in your shopping cart like another apple. Would you? Could you? Have you? Let’s go in the comments 👇🏻 Photos by @bmcreative.video Trip by @kumbukumbtours

Experiences over Possessions. I’d much rather live my life collecting stories, moments, and lessons. These are treasures that can’t be taken from you. They don’t take up space, you could say they are invisible. Yet they do add beauty to those who wear them. And I say “wear” experiences because you do see them on people who have them. In their character, in their understanding and empathy, in the way they carry themselves throughout life. Possessions have their place, but don’t underestimate the power of building your own story. You’ll get far more from $1000 spent backpacking Asia, then $1000 spent on a wristwatch. The truth is, a good story is perhaps the most valuable thing you can own. 🐉 Taken at Cenote Jardín de Eden by the beautiful @traveleroflove
RISK AND LUCK ARE BROTHERS 🐉 They come as a pair. Inseparable. Luck needs risk to exist. How does the hero slay the dragon in the back of the cave? Always by the skin of his teeth. Against all odds. These are the stories we keep telling. The one where the hero wins in the final hour by way of a miracle. But is it truly by chance? Or is it grit, hope, and dedication? The daily sharpening of a sword. The training, the studying, the rest. Day by day, year by year. Proving to yourself you are what you say you are. Proving to God and the universe that you are worthy of the prize. Only the can you venture into the cave with a torch and a compass and slay the beast that lies inside. I’m talking in metaphors. Here’s the point. You want to be lucky? Train hard and take more risks. Only then you’ll get the treasure. Photos by @bmcreative.video at Calandula Falls in Angola 🇦🇴
