Short story/advice from someone who never thought they would need to go anywhere near a dating app but did. Gulp. For the love of god, lie about your age. Wanna know why? Hold tight here we go. I joined Raya last year. I was 54. I was put into the 45-54 age group. I wasn’t exactly happy about being put into an ‘age group’ to be honest, but it was my age and I didn’t want to lie. If I was going to start a new relationship I didn’t want the awkward moment of explaining wasn’t 39 ( I know, in my dreams) But… this meant my info would only be available to those guys who actively wanted to meet women in that age group ( note to females – most men, in my short experience, like to think they’re open to all ages but are really not and studies have shown they usually put their stop point at about the years younger than themselves.) So yeah, I didn’t get access to the hot young dudes. And to be honest that was ok – if I do date again I’d like somebody smart and experienced and to be fair on said hot young dudes they probably wouldn’t have been that interested in me either! But get this. Last August I turned 55. Which transferred me from my previous group, 45-54, to the 55 group! 55 till….death. There IS no older group 😳. I am in the same age bracket as my mother would have been had she been still alive ( 84). As Jane Fonda ( who is hot as hell, but I’m not into women) as Jeanne Calment would have been before she passed away at 122. Literally the oldest woman ever to put herself on a dating app would be in the same bracket let as me 😳 Don’t feel bad. Both myself and my girls ( who were the ones that convinced me to join in the first place) have laughed ourselves silly over it. It is what it is. I’m coming off Raya this month and may actually be meeting some people via real life introductions. This sounds even more terrifying than dating apps! Wish me luck, folks! 😳😂
Today. Had to put makeup on – lots! Very bad skin day so needed a filter too. 😳 I had acne throughout my 20s. Finally got rid of that and enjoyed pretty great skin in my 30s and 40s. Now struggling with eczema and dermatitis. But only on my face.. weird. The doctor isn’t sure what’s causing it. Thank heaven for technology, and concealer😂 Love to all 🩷🩷🩷

Cannot believe how many pics we took in 2019. In our case, at least twice as many as any other year. And in so many different places. It gives me goosebumps. Almost as if we knew that the world was about to change in a way we could not have possibly expected. I look at myself in these pics and it is a different me. Not better, or worse. But different. Monday morning. Start of a fresh new week. Busy people juggling love life work and kids got a head start and have already spent their precious down time to mess with my Wikipedia page! No prizes for guessing which smart go-getting group of people are behind this ( former actress? Oh stop! You guys are going to break me! 🤭) but instead, let me know what acts of kindness, for loved ones, strangers or even yourself, you intend to engage in this week. Big or small! I’ll go first. Small, but hopefully impactful: My youngest has her heart set on the ‘Girl’s Guide To Murder’ box set for a few weeks now. She’s going to get it this week in a surprise package addressed to her. Which I will ask her to go down to the door and pick up ‘for me’ and watch her face. 😭🩷She has a little trouble with reading until recently but has suddenly taken off and is racing through everything I give her.
