Went out tonight. Had to get slap on. Elsie said ‘mummy you know us girls don’t need make-up, it comes from an inbuilt lack of esteem which is perpetuated by the tv and social media.’ Ella said ‘Hey Mum can I do your face tonight?’ ( she’s gotten really really good at make-up!) I have come to hate slapping it on.. but I still feel more confident when I have a ful face like tonight, if I’m going to be honest. I LOVED that Pam Anderson did all her pre-Oscar red carpets without a scratch. Though I don’t think I would have the balls. What do you beautiful people think? Our never-ending return to Los Angeles. 😳 31 hours after our initial departure from London for LA, here we are in… Boston! One return to gate in a plane with only one working engine, one night in a budget hotel at Heathrow. Two rushed rebooks by the airline, one in which Ella was flying twice on the same plane and Elsie not at all, a second one where Elsie was somehow booked on a different airline altogether (!) So here we are. A quick 7 hour layover. 😂😂😂😂😂. We were going to explore but the girls have never felt weather this cold and our bodies can barely hold us up so we’re going to try to sleep on some airport seats. Praying the next leg goes according to plan. There is a small black dog waiting for us! 🐕🦺

Dear Peter, I heard the awful news this morning. It’s almost impossible to believe you’re gone. You were such a big, sparkling wonderful presence wherever you went. Hard to believe I’ll never bump into you again at 3rd and Fairfax. That we’ll never again hang out and have dinner. That I’ll never hear another one of your brilliant anecdotes about some crazed incident with a ridiculously famous actor on a far-flung film set… you know I could just sit and listen for hours. I think everybody who knew you could. I feel so lucky our paths crossed. I’ve been reading some of the online elegies and it’s beautiful and bittersweet to see how beloved you were by so many, even though it was never in doubt. It just always seems so unfair that beautiful people like you aren’t around to hear the incredible public outpourings of love that happen after they’ve gone. Hopefully you’re up there with your bestie Ed chewing the cud and laughing at us all. Goodbye Luke Spellman, goodbye Uncle Richard.
