We’re getting a little flicky up in here! Rem felt like struttin’ his stuff to close out our flat yesterday. If only y’all knew what an achievement this is. 🥹 He’s continuing to open up those shoulders, push off his hind end and lift through his core. AND we’re finally seeing some true heel first landings on 100% bare feet. Incredibly proud of this horse.
A little more lenghty raw from our lesson yesterday. 😊 Our exercise: take the vertical off the rail, circle, then take the vertical off the quarter line. After watching it back I think Elisabeth wanted me to redo my circle because I let him lose his shoulder a bit but overall I am so so proud of this. Rem was in an incredible mindset yesterday — I think he is really appreciating all the freedom he’s finding in his body. 🥹🤌🏼 . . . #barefoothorse #barefoothorses #ottbsofinstagram #ottbofinstagram #ottbjumper #greygelding #greyhorse #greyhorsesofinstagram #equestrianjumping #equestrianrider #equinelifestyle
Hello 2024! It’s nice to see ya. Our last ride of 2023. We’ve come a long way together, Rem and I. Animals have always been a staple in my life and the healing they’ve offered me this year has been paramount. I wish that whatever brings you wisdom and comfort finds its way to you with ease and in abundance this coming year. ✨🤠🐴🐾✨
A lengthy raw for the nerds. It’s not big exciting jumps but this was a huge moment for us on an especially spooky and electric day. For those of you that have been following our journey for a while you know what a spicy Remington normally looks like. Just before this video started rolling he had a couple of big spooks and at the top I say to our trainer that I may have to bring him back down to a walk to get him back in his body and listening to me. Instead @elisabethhowerofficial gave me a goal to allow him to move through the tension he’s feeling without adding any more tension from me. Much easier said than done when you have a spicy Remington moving underneath you. When this horse is already feeling hot and bothered the worst thing I could do is add more tension to his experience — it only elevates him more and more and clouds his understanding of what is being asked. I am really proud of how stable, calm, and light I was able to be even though he was feeling the complete opposite. My ability to regulate my nervous system and physical body led him back to his own body, back to me, back to the exercise, and kept us both safe. 😊👊🏼 . . . #ottbsofinstagram #ottblove #ottbofinstagram #greygelding #horseridinglesson #equestrianrider #horsetraining
A modern little love letter to Rem. This horse holds a part of myself that I love so very much — that part of me that is willing to be bold and brave and say yes to all that I want in this life. My life of late has been quite heavy and dark — I’m grateful to have him to look to and be reminded of brighter days that are sure to lie ahead. Spring shall come again. We got this fellow humans!
Easing back into it with the big dawg after all the rain. Please ignore that I’m on the wrong diagonal and focus on how cute Rem is. 🤙🏼 @mercedesnatalia @elisabethhowerofficial
Let ‘em roll 👀 If you’re in the market for a bridle and want customization options, I highly recommend @flexiblefitequestrian. The customer service team was incredibly helpful identifying what sizes Rem needed in each part of the bridle. He ended up being horse sized in most aspects, but he needed an oversized crown piece. It feels really good to be able to get him tack that is custom to him. Our horses are all built so incredibly differently and they each deserve to wear tack that actually fits them. I’m quite bummed Rem was in a bridle that was much too small for so long, but I didn’t know any better. Stay curious and willing to be wrong my friends! Our four leggeds give us their all out there — they deserve our utmost attention and diligence. . . . . #ottblove #ottbjumper #barefoothorse #greygelding #greyhorse #equestrianrider #equinehealth

For the ones who like to get personal — I believe there is art in helming the care of another creature. Truth is, I try to find the artistry in everything I do. I started professionally acting at the age of 11 years old and that’s pretty much all I did right up until the pandemic. My life looks differently than maybe I’d expected it to; I’m sure that’s true for all of us. The past four years have been about seeking what artistry even means to me and sitting with why acting called my name. I’m very curious by nature and have the desire to experience so many things in this life — that’s one of the things I love about acting. It allows me to actively put myself in other people’s shoes and unlock worlds of experience. It wakes up my imagination and asks me to dig a little deeper and call forth a new understanding. A new life force then emerges — the one required to experience a very specific set of circumstances dictated by the writer. Actors breathe life into story. ✨ I used to feel embarrassed when I wasn’t working; I felt that if I wasn’t on set that I had failed as an artist. I’m now seeing that I can take all that I’ve learned and deepen it through every aspect of my life. I now do not believe that the only way to sharpen one’s artistry is through “the arts”. I can feel these thoroughbreds sharpening my artistry in a way I could’ve never imagined. They’ll teach you stillness, they’ll teach you what it means to be embodied, they’ll teach you how to be grounded and present. I love the art of acting, I believe I will be an actor until the day I leave this planet. I wonder — what else am I? What more can I learn? This platform is a little peek into my journey. Thanks for coming along. 🐎
