Me and this one, after 3 months apart, having a coffee and a natter on my dad’s veranda in Jamaica this morning. This weekend we’re here to say a final goodbye to my dad’s best friend: my god-father and uncle, Kes. So family far and wide are being reunited to celebrate a life well lived ❤️💔.
Honestly one of the most gentle, kindest souls you could ever meet who worked tirelessly to change the course of the lives of others… whilst living daily alongside his own grief, hurt, and devastation. Mr Richard Adeyemi Taylor OBE, thank-you.
A Jamaican celebration of life is truly spectacular. But my dad throwing a lil’ after party on his veranda when we got back from the funeral reception is the reason why I was man down for most of Sunday. I *could* blame the jet-lag. But in reality it was the whisky I bought him at the airport 😩. We partied hard. And I miss my sister again 😢

Funerals tend to be the perfect time to remember the history that came before. When these men arrived on UK shores during the Windrush era, they were faced with hate, distrust, racism, and violence. They were denied the opportunities afforded to those who were not immigrants. The system was set up for them to fail. In the midst of all of that, they found each other, and found safety, solace, and friendship. All these years later, they still have each other… but this weekend in Jamaica they bid farewell to one of their crew, my uncle and god-father Kes. I’m proud to call them all uncle, and proud of the future they, and so many others, fought so hard for… for us. Thank-you. Cherish your friends ❤️

I can’t think of a time when I wasn’t raving with this one… because our history is looooong. But now she’s finally arrived at Level 4 alongside the rest of us grown folk in our 40s 😂. She’s a friend, she became a little sis, but to be honest she’s always been family. Happy 40th birthday @van_ne_es. On Saturday we shall party HARD. Love you long time xx

Turns out this lil’ combo is @bafta nomination worthy! Last year’s Loose Women and Men is up for Best Daytime at this year’s BAFTAs. This is the picture we took right before we kicked off the show. Hugely proud of the entire @loosewomen team especially the production team who work their socks off to make impactful TV that can make a difference. But, importantly, a HUGE thank-you to all the Loose ladies who collectively make some of the best daytime TV out there, whilst also opening their hearts, telling their stories, imparting knowledge and understanding… and being just the best girl gang ever ❤️. (and high-fives to @lorraine @lorrainekellysmith who’s also up for Best Daytime!)
