This weekend members of @kctransformations team @merriquej @_slightlyjaded and I had the pleasure to attend & judge & perform Utopia Washington’s annual Miss Island Goddess Pageant & Gala. Utopia is a queer and trans people of color-led, grassroots organization born out of the struggles, challenges, strength, and resilience of the Queer and Trans Pacific Islander (QTPI – “Q-T-pie”) communities. Their services are vital, including making healthcare, food and basic life saving support free and accessible to community. It was beautiful to see so many of our mahu, fa’afafine and transgender sisters compete in this pageant, including the beautiful @evve_fine Everly and Tepa from Transformations’ Liberation Camp.
