Last night was suppose to be fight night for me, but unfortunately, the universe had other plans. I wasn’t going to make a post, but I want it known that I was physically, mentally, & technically at my very best for the fight & the PFL tournament. I wasn’t able to be cleared medically due to something found on my MRA scan of my brain that is now looking like I will probably never be able to fight in MMA again. All I’ve known since I was a teenager was that I wanted to fight. I was disciplined & dedicated, so I hate that this is how my story is turning out. As happy as I am that I got to the professional stage, I feel like I was only getting started. It saddens me to think I’ll never be able to reach my full potential in the cage. And after seeing those fights last night, I know, without a doubt, I would’ve been one of the best women’s featherweights in the world. I am a mirror of the hard work I put in. ADCC West Coast Trials- 5 matches this weekend. Winning 4 in submissions. 5th one I had to concede during due to a knee injury. Sad it ended the way it did, but from takedowns to submissions I was on fire for both trials. (East Coast Trials— 4 matches won with 4 subs) It’s been a rough year for me. My ultimate dream was crushed last year around this time when I found out I couldn’t fight mma anymore due to a health issue. Atleast with this injury I know I’ll be back on the mats. Monday night I awarded a wrestler the first ever Amanda Leve Award. Many might not know that 10 years ago, I tried joining the wrestling team at my high school, but I was denied by the Archdiocese of Philadelphia for being a girl trying to join a team of boys since there wasn’t a team for girls. This year, my high school FINALLY got a girls wrestling team. I am honored to say they named the 1st ever female wrestling award after me for my efforts 10 years ago. This award will be given to one girl every season. I am so happy the 1st girl to receive it is Molly, a hardworking & strong young woman. Congrats Molly!
