For the first time in 12 years, I’m taking a summer off to just enjoy the present. All my life, I thought my worth was directly tied to how hard I worked or how much I produced and yet, my most fulfilling moments have been in the company of good people, good food, new experiences, and creating from my joy. Hello social media! Can’t believe it’s been 8 months! Finally felt compelled to do a post because it’s always a reflective time on my birthday. I’ve been on a journey to rewire my neural pathways away from trauma responses, perfectionism, and people pleasing, and towards hope, joy, and authenticity. I’ve been shifting my sense of value away from productivity and social accolades, and towards nurturing my health, my relationships, and creative projects that my soul is compelled to share. I’m very much a work in progress, but I’m proud to say that on this trip around the sun, I’m the happiest and most confident I’ve ever been. For anyone still reading, this is a reminder that your productivity and accomplishments do not define you. And I hope you get to spend more time doing things and being with people that bring you true JOY because that’s what life is actually about ❤️ you, right here, right now, are enough ❤️

I’ve only ever known 1 mode: work really hard. But for the past 3 years, I’ve been running on a low/empty artistic fuel tank. I never listened to my body when it needed to rest; never listened to my own needs and intuitions because I was too busy listening to everyone else; proving to the world that I am valuable. I placed my worth in the approval of Hollywood and started losing my own voice. I have so many ideas I want to create, and I’ll never stop creating—but right now, I’m untethering my self worth from my career, the approval of others, number of bookings, and the admirable Asian work ethic with which I’ve defined myself. Right now, I’m just going to BE. Because I am enough just being the full expression of my life force. That’s it.
