Today’s the day we launch my newest cabinet collections with @uniquekitchensandbaths !! 🌿
After years of working with various cabinet companies when designing kitchens/ bathrooms to try to get the look and feel I wanted (timeless, authentic, REAL wood finishes and hand-painted cabinets that didn’t feel like they were done in a plastic-like factory coating- you know what I’m talking about!!) and struggling to achieve it, I began working with UKB to develop a bespoke line of cabinet collections that embody the authentic, natural, timeless cupboards I’d been dreaming up.
With 25 colors in my natural palette (and custom available) and a number of wax oil stains on white oak, pine, maple more, UKB’s heirloom quality cupboards are handmade by local cabinetmakers. Since we started using the collection, client after client has been blown away by the quality and craftsmanship and it’s been so rewarding. ✨

My moongate dreams coming true!!! From hand sketch to reality, I’m already in love 🫶 Along with being so excited to have this kind of place in our house, my hope is that once we do some wilder things in our house, our design clients will trust us to do some of that in theirs. #fairytalemodern thank you CarrMichael Construction for always going with the flow!!!!
In an unexpected turn of events ~ we’re saying goodbye to the Lost Cottage. Teary as I type, this place has been so good to us. We love it so dang much but we’re onto our next chapter, our next lost cottage. 🤍🌊 Shut the door to the cottage just now in its cleanest condition ever since all 7 of us have lived there to put it on the market… all I wanted to do was have a glass of wine and hang in the hammock to admire all of our work but it’s time to head home with crossed fingers someone falls for this place the way we did. (Ps- whoever gets this house will have the absolute BEST next door neighbors in the world!!! 😭🫶) My next book BEACH LIFE tells our story here -and other beach houses we’ve redone- and is coming out in a few short weeks!! Never did I think we’d be leaving this place just as the book launched but life does its thing and we flow with it. 🌊🤍

Finally getting into the details over at the Meadow!!! I fell in love with the stair railings in an old Northern Italian house and want to do similar ones at our place! It’s the curvy details I love most (not so shocking if you’ve seen my textiles/ furniture designs) and so I want to add a little more swirl/ magic to these babies. (They’re also getting much narrower)

beach life 🌊🤍 @thelostcottage (our beach house) is going on the market this week and my new book, Beach Life:Home, Heart & the Sea comes out next week!!! This book might be my favorite I’ve written (maybe tied with Feels Like Home) and is a real soul search. Life is different at the beach and I wanted to understand why… Beach Life is a deep dive into some of the recent down to earth beach houses we’ve rehabbed, beach mindset, wellness, food, spirituality and personal growth. A lot o’ design, and a little bit love story self-help, I have never wanted a book of mine read more than this one because I think it can really help people live more fully. As I continue to design houses and write books, I’ve realized I really want to help people with more than just design. I want our clients and readers to leave a home or finish reading a book and go out feeling free and invigorated, making plans for living their best lives – both in their homes and in their hearts. From the little bit of feedback I’ve gotten from those who got pre-released copies and read it cover to cover, I think you’ll love it. Available now for preorder wherever books are sold.

Oh hi there Saturday 🤍 Not much more time living here and I’ve realized the thing I’ll miss the most is the massive foyer/ mudroom.
