It’s cherry blossom season ‘round here!! And the goslings are getting SO big!! 🌸 Snowdrop Primrose are now 7 weeks old 🪿🪿 They live in a coop outside (still heated on cold nights until all of their adult feathers are in) and we supervise their free range time grazing. We’re building an aviary & moving tractor for them. They can only come in for short jaunts now (if you know you know 🫣) but they still want to follow us everywhere. how to train your gosling 🫶 Geese are often misjudged and -though verrrry protective- are some of the sweetest animals on the planet. They are the strongest imprinters and will follow their “mama” around everywhere. We have two female embdens, Snowdrop Primrose (the white mother goose kind) 🪿🪿 If you want super friendly cuddly geese, you need to spend lots of time with them every day, take them out on adventures (they loooove grass and you can earn their trust by picking handfuls of it for them when grazing) and make sure to het them used to lots of physical touch, pets and company. They love their people in such a trusting, beautiful way. 🫶 ps- they aren’t really potty trainable so jaunts inside need to be fast and -even then- have your cleaner & paper towels ready! #themeadowhouse #fairytalemodern #geese #liessgeese

Reviving @battlerunfarm has been a dream come true!! When our clients, Anne & Chris, emailed about the diamond in the rough they’d found in the mountains with peeling wallpaper and crumbling stucco it was a pinch me moment!! We installed phase 1 this week (with more to go including curtains, MORE art, exterior & pool house!) SO grateful to Anne & Chris for their trust, sense@of adventure, and general amazingness, to my team at @laurenliessandco for their incredible hard work, dreaming; and attention to detail, and to the @welshconstruction team for their impeccable craftsmanship, dedication, and willingness to do cool stuff. We get asked a lot about our kitchen gardens / the structure etc so I wanted to share a video of our old garden in early spring (when the spring peepers were out!) I like to build raised beds with 5-6” ledges on top so we can sit on them for weeding/ hanging. The deer did NOT ever go up into this garden which was on a terrace with very low walls and filled with pea gravel. Don’t know if it was the stucco walls or the couple of steps up/ down needed to get in but they just didn’t enter. I also love a dining table or seating area in the garden because when I’ve done all that work to make a garden want to be able to sit, hang, eat and entertain in it. A central table also gets lots of use for picking in large quantities and having somewhere to set it all. 🌿 We also had wisteria growing up the back terrace and I never had any regrets about- it never hurt the house and I loved having something to cut back and I loved the romantic unbridled feel it gave to the place. 🌿 And finally, we have seedlings going in our cold frames right now and I am beyond excited!! happy planting!!

This is your reminder to open the windows in your home as much as possible!! Just 1 hour of open windows a day is beneficial!! (I am NOT good at this when it’s cold out but am trying to get better!) It doesn’t have to be all the windows/ fully open, just a breeze coming in, (the more the merrier tho!) Do you know about the “secret stool?” For years I’ve been designing kitchens with the cook in mind and sometimes this cook likes to sit down at the island to chop or hang with friends/ family. 😊 I don’t want to have to leave my station because chances are I’ll be up and down but it’s nice to have that sit. We also love eating at the island as a family so we did two in this kitchen so my husband and I could face the kids. A historical bedroom transformation at @battlerunfarm 🤎 hellooo color!! | we said goodbye to the chimney woodburner that were taking up valuable space in the bedroom and made room for guests with 2 queen “saltwater” beds (from my collection with Woodbridge Furniture) 🤎 Mottled brown Limewash and robin’s egg blue woodwork were a bit of a stretch for our client (Thank you for trusting Anne! 🫶) but we absolutely love how it turned out!!! Antique trunks at the ends of the beds with a vintage rug, chair (not seen) and art are paired with new bedding and dresser for a timeless collected feel.
