The “Whalerman’s Watch” beach cottage is almost finished just in time for the holidays! 🐳 So thankful for this chill time with the family. Sending love to you and yours this Thanksgiving! The design details: Leftover beams from the Meadow give the place those old scrap wood Outer Banks vibes with a little bit o’ those old English Lost Colony Roots. The original houses around here were made from leftover scrap wood from barns, shipwrecks etc. Still working on things like installing countertops and lighting. Stucco walls, planked board ceilings, painted old floorboards mixed with brick and some existing furnishings (the ikea table came with the house & we had most everything in our barn!) and a couple of new pieces (the Meadow sofa from my collection with @taylorkingfurniture an antique Swedish 1872-painted chest) have made this place into a relaxed, cozy, and flop-able beach pad. Loving it in the off-season with candles, kids and pups. The whole renovation is featured in our “Saving Lost Cottages of the Outer Banks” video series. 🤍🌊

Broke in the new kitchen at the Whalerman’s Watch. 🌿 The garden is still going strong at the beach and the parsley was almost 4’ high (!! Must be that salt air?!!) so I used it in arrangements around the house and to make an herbal salt rub for the turkey. Downtime with the family & food food = my happy place 🫶
