Choose your fighters. I call Pool Shark!!! 🦈 Before Sarah Baker, there was Bb Stoner. 🥹 One of the greatest gifts growing up was trying every sport under the sun. The physical coordination, mental discipline, teamwork, health benefits, competition… I wished I could be on a field or a court 24/7. 🤪 Here’s to finding new ways to stay active in my thirties! 🥵 Alt text: Images of Alyson from childhood playing different sports, including football, baseball, tennis, Billiard’s, golf, basketball, swing dancing, and climbing monkey bars.

It’s time to expose Hollywood. Child stardom is a unique cultural phenomenon with a notoriously dark shadow. Precocious young talents skyrocket to success only to repeat horror stories of addiction, decimated fortunes, and suicide. What is behind the toddler-to-train wreck pipeline? Why hasn’t it stopped? How are you connected to it at home? I will be revealing intimate firsthand accounts alongside comprehensive expertise and action plans to change entertainment and inspire your own life path and healing. DEAR HOLLYWOOD premieres in 2 weeks on my birthday 8/11 with episodes releasing every Friday. Subscribe on YouTube, Spotify and Apple (link in bye-oh). #DearHollywood Alt. text: Alyson sits on a couch and holds a microphone in a dimly lit room. They give an overview of what to expect in their new podcast, Dear Hollywood, described above.

🤓🧠 4E Cognition??? ⬇️ Spoke on @thementalgamepod about 4E Cognition (Embodied, Embedded, Enactive, Extended). This isn’t a *new* or end-all, be-all framework. It’s one Westernized launchpad for further research so we can understand how our minds/brains operate. Here’s a brief summary quoting Professor Shaun Gallagher: “Cognition is not just in the head or neuronal processes in the brain. It’s something that involves the body, and the situation of the body in the environment.” “Embodied: this idea traces back to Merleau-Ponty, phenomenology, and Varela in ‘Embodied Mind.’ The brain co-evolved with the body.” “Embedded: our environment is physical, social, and cultural. We engage in various practices shaped by the kinds of things around us (buildings, landscape, etc), which help us define different possibilities for how we can act.” “Enacted: This suggests that the relationship between the body and the environment is primarily geared towards action, what we can do. We’re always tuned into the practicality of what is possible.” “Extended: This develops out of the theory of distributed cognition. It makes a strong claim about how instruments and objects are part of cognitive processes and what constitutes cognition.” Among many other benefits and applications, this can help us improve our well-being with more tailored and comprehensive interventions. 🌞 P.S. Listeners of the pod received a special discount for my eBook 1 Year of @movementgenius. See you in class!
would you ever want to be famous? this is a clip from the liz moody podcast with alyson stoner, where the actor (you might remember them from hundreds of your favorite childhood films including camp rock & cheaper by the dozen), dear hollywood podcast host, and @movementgenius founder gets raw and vulnerable about what growing up in hollywood is REALLY like. we also get into how much money actors really make, the exact audition that led alyson to take a break from acting and go to reh@b, and the practices they’ve used to heal their trauma (including some you can try at home!!). to listen, comment ALYSON below or search “alyson liz moody” on your favorite podcast app!
