Despite a growing recognition of the importance of diversity and inclusion in STEM fields, media representations of women in STEM continue to lag behind. At this year’s @BFFFEstival, Madeline Di Nonno will lead a panel discussion with actors Melissa Navia and Diona Reasonover, along with Engineer and Survivor contestant Heidi Lagares to explore the critical role of media in shaping perceptions of women in STEM and discuss strategies for improving representation and inspiring the next generation of female leaders in these fields.

At this year’s @BFFFestival, the opening film was “Out of My Mind,” a coming of age film starring Phoebe-Rae Taylor as 12-year-old Melody, a 6th grader with cerebral palsy.
