Just hours before La Taverna dei Lupi’s big opening night, a sudden rainstorm swept over Figline Valdarno, completely drenching everything on site, including the sound equipment. But as if by a miracle, the sun broke through just in time and everyone pulled together to dry it all out and make everything shipshape once more. Thank you to our incredible team at Il Palagio for all their great work. And thank you to everyone who came from near and far, including some of Sting’s amazing fan club. For all of us in different ways it was a night to remember! La Taverna dei Lupi will be open Thursday-Sunday for the rest of the summer – weather permitting! Live music, food and drinks under the stars. Tel 339 217 4960 to book.
Thank you so much for these awesome captions/responses – they kept me cracked up all day. Here’s some of your highlights. Hope you’re having a great summer! xt

I wanted to share our latest superhero story from the @superhumans.center in Lviv. Last January, 11yr old Sasha Reshetnya was heading out with his cousin Alina to buy groceries from the local store. On their way, a Russian shell exploded on the roadside. Tragically Sasha lost his leg, while Alina died 10 days later from multiple injuries. A few months ago Sasha began treatment at Superhumans, where he’s undergone five surgeries and a very lengthy recovery process. This remarkable boy has conquered what for many could have been insurmountable hurdles at such a young age. Thanks to this state of the art centre, thousands are being treated for injuries sustained in this terrible war. We are pleased to report that Sasha, the youngest patient to receive a prosthesis is back on his feet and playing his beloved football again. A fitting tribute to his cousin Alina and an inspiring story. Thank you @Superhumans.Center Team for your incredible work @stavnitser_andrey @rudnieva_ @nzhook. We look forward to visiting soon. 🇺🇦 🦿🦾 For more details about the Superhumans Center please see the link in the bio www.superhumans.com #ukraine #superhumanscenter
@rainforest_fund is pleased to announce the support of a new project with @institutoraoni. The Amazon is one of the richest and most biodiverse ecosystems on the planet. It continues to face extreme challenges from exploitation and deforestation. The Raoni Institute’s purpose is to protect their own indigenous territories and in so doing are instrumental in establishing sustainable income generating opportunities, harnessing the rainforests’ potential, without harm. This community based programme for the Mẽbêngôkre (Kayapó people) will increase the capacity of their Tonka bean (Cumaru seed) harvest. The seeds come from a native Brazilian flowering teak tree, known for its therapeutic properties as an anti-inflammatory, an essential oil in cooking and as a valuable ingredient in the cosmetic industry. By harvest completion in October, the Kayapo need to increase their capacity by ten fold, selling 500 kilo bundles of seeds, if they are to be competitive in local commercial markets. This funding will help them build the structure they need to do this. We are excited to play our part, since the Kayapo have been long standing friends and allies for more than 30 years. #rainforestfund #InstitutoRaoni #amazonrainforest Photographer: Simone Giovine / Kayapo – cumaru seed production.

Today for #femalefilmmakerfriday, I want to shine a spotlight on two incredible women making waves in the world of documentary filmmaking: Natalie Rae Robinson (@natalieraerobinson) and Angela Patton (@sistah_angela)! Together, they have created the documentary Daughters, which follows four young girls as they prepare for a special Daddy Daughter Dance with their incarcerated fathers, as part of a fatherhood program in a Washington, D.C., jail. The film delves into the lives of young women navigating their identities and relationships in a rapidly changing world. (Special shout out to @kerrywashington for her role as executive producer and lending her support to amplify these crucial stories!) Natalie and Angela’s combined impressive backgrounds and passion for their subjects are evident in the film’s impactful storytelling. Natalie is an acclaimed director and producer known for her powerful narratives and commitment to social justice. With a background in both journalism and film, she brings a unique perspective to her work, often focusing on themes of identity and empowerment. Similarly, Angela is a celebrated activist and filmmaker whose work addresses systemic issues and personal transformation. She is an advocate for ‘at-promise’ African American girls and is the CEO of girlsforachange which aims to support and empower young girls of color to feel seen, heard, and celebrated as they enter into womanhood. You won’t want to miss this insightful and moving exploration of female empowerment and self-discovery. Catch @daughtersdocumentary and see how Natalie and Angela are reshaping the narrative with their impactful work!
